  1. Eng 15-0published at 3 overs

Excellent running from Sam Billings gets him off the mark - a cheeky little nudge into the covers and he's straight down the wicket to nab a single. Roy then picks up England's first boundary with a fine whirl of the wrists. The next shot is even better, a nonchalant flick off his pads, and it's away for another boundary.

A lot of bowlers these days like to come in at an angle but Shannon Gabriel has a straight run-up and he's just bringing the ball back into the batsman.

  3. Eng 5-0published at 2 overs

    Roy 3, Billings 0

Shannon Gabriel will take the other new ball, and he has a huge shout for lbw against Jason Roy with his first delivery. A bit of bounce probably saved Roy there, although he was beaten for pace. Sam Billings then has a waft at a nice off-stump delivery and just avoids getting an outside edge on it. In fact, both batsmen are tempted into fishing at a few wide deliveries, before Roy picks up a comfortable two.

Mark Whitrod: I feel for Bairstow. Man in great form and keeps getting overlooked. Poor team selection.

Bilton in Ainsty CC: Surely Jonny Bairstow is the most unlucky ODI cricketer around ATM. Scores runs quickly, great fielder and in form! Still not picked.

  5. Eng 1-0published at 1 overs

Jason Roy will take Jason Holder's first few deliveries, and after a bit of off-stump theory he gets under way with a tickle down to fine leg. Roy then rehearses playing a big, booming straight drive as he gets off strike. The average score here is round about 250, so it's not a typically high-scoring pitch. A quiet opening over.

Jason Holder has got the physique to bowl 90mph so it surprises me that he only delivers it at 80mph.

Jason Holder is going to open the bowling. He's got absolutely giant strides - which you'd expect from a man who measures in at six foot seven.

Toby Trumper: Whatever you say. @Trescricket, external autobiography is a thing of beauty. So personal and honest. Not much will beat it in my opinion.

James Quinlan: Given that the game is against the Windies, the book has to Beyond a Boundary by CLR James, or Glory Gardens of course.

New West Indies head coach Stuart Law speaking on TMS: "We've got T20 cricket nailed - we have pure athletes and pure power. We just need to help them with game management in the other two formats. Their work ethic is fantastic, they are very proud to represent their people and to do that under the baggy maroon."

It's striking that today Eoin Morgan has more ODI caps to his name than the entire West Indies team.

    West Indies v England

Sam Billings comes back in for England, with Alex Hales still recovering from a hand injury. He'll open alongside Jason Roy

Steven Finn will also come in for Jake Ball, who picked up an injury out in the Caribbean. So that's four seamers, two spinners and a bit of Joe Root in the middle overs.
