  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 46.1 overs

Dockrell b Wood 28 (Ire 243 all out) ENGLAND WON BY 85 RUNS

What a way to finish, a perfect inswinging yorker from the fit-again Mark Wood, leaving him with figures of 2-38 from 8.1 overs.

A 2-0 series whitewash for England.

  2. Impressive Plunkettpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 7 May 2017

Despite that four, Liam Plunkett's figures are looking very healthy for today after those latest wickets.

  3. Ire 243-9published at 46 overs

    Target 329

Plunkett did not concede more than singles against the frontline Ireland batsman but last man Chase has snicked him through the vacant slip cordon for only his second boundary in ODI. The number 11 managed only one run in his first six ODI innings.

England's strength in depth is unbelievable now - it's even better that Mark Wood is back in the mix as that extra strike bowler.

  5. Ire 235-9published at 45 overs

    Wood 1-38 from 8

Peter Chase looks a little like Peter Crouch trying to bat out there against Wood, reverse swinging the ball at 90mph, but he gets off the mark. Who is going to get the last wicket? Surely they are not going to bat out the overs? I've been up since 4am.

Josh Verrills‏: Plunkett is underrated; always picks up wickets, always has low economy and seldom goes for significant runs over his 10 overs.

  7. Ire 232-9published at 44 overs

    Required rate 16.16

Plunkett fizzes one at 84mph past the outside edge of last man Peter Chase, who does not look like he is going to delay matters very long. The 15 runs Plunkett has conceded have all been singles, with just the one wide. Pleasingly parsimonious for the paceman.

Plunkett rolled his fingers over that one. He's becoming much more consistent now.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 43.1 overs

    Murtagh c Ball b Plunkett 2 (Ire 231-9)

The end is nigh. Murtagh steers tamely to square cover, a third wicket for Plunkett and a third catch for Ball. Virtual silence from the crowd. The Irish supporters may have relocated to the tavern.

  10. Porterfield out for 82published at 18:05 British Summer Time 7 May 2017

Will Porterfield's fine innings comes to an end as a ramp shot doesn't quite go according to plan.

  11. Ire 231-8published at 43 overs

98 more needed from 42 balls

A yawn from England coach Trevor Bayliss, who looks cold on the balcony, despite the sunshine and an imminent victory for his team. Wood has a short run-up these days, hardly surprising given the amount of injury troubles he has had, but he has been up in the 90s-mph today, as has Plunkett.

Plunkett is under-rated, he's one of my favourite England bowlers. Because of his strong shoulders, he hits the pitch hard and the ball carries through nicely.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 41.5 overs

    McCarthy c Ball b Plunkett 2 (Ire 226-8)

Valiant from McCarthy, we don't need him scratching around for another eight overs. He goes for glory and doesn't get it - the boundary would have had to have been brought in significantly more than it already has been - another 40 yards or so in fact - and Ball takes another neatly judged catch at mid-off. Impressive from Plunkett, 2-14 from six.

  14. Six for Dockrellpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 7 May 2017

Ireland will be hoping for a few more of these in the closing overs. Otherwise, it's a 2-0 series win for England.

  15. Ire 224-7published at 41 overs

    Target 329

Even the exuberant Ireland followers have gone a little quiet now. Barry McCarthy is the new batsman. He's going to have to improve on his highest ODI score - by some way - it is currently only 13.

Mark Wood set him up, cramping him for room and trying to get Porterfield to hit into the leg side. He's done his country proud here today.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 40.4 overs

    Porterfield b Wood 82 (Ire 223-7)

Mark Wood returns to bowl his sixth over. Willey has seven left, Plunkett five. Porterfield's enterprising innings ends, he is down one knee trying to play the ramp shot - extremely brave at Wood's pace - but the only contact is with ball on stumps.

This is a bit more fun. The sun is shining and the sixes are flying.

  19. 6 runs

    Ire 221-6published at 40 overs

    Target 329

Porterfield swings Ball high into the azure blue sky and it thuds into the foam boundary marker at wide mid-wicket, brought in for this match. Ireland's sixth six, they've beaten England in that department at least.

Ireland have got to take chances now. Porterfield looks like he's decided he's got to go for it. There's no point in him blocking the game out.
