Target 329
Rashid completes his allocation, just the one wicket today after his 5-27 at Bristol. To compound matters he is driven down the ground by Dockrell for a maximum - only his fifth in ODIs - to the delight of the well refreshed Irish contingent.
Target 329
We had that brief flurry from calypso Kev but since those two sixes there had been no fours since the 29th over. Dockrell breaks that sequence by helping a loose one from Ball into the leg side. Time for the final drinks break of the day and it will be welcomed in the afternoon sunshine.

Jack Byrne: One good game and Rashid was blown up to be some mysterious bowler. He is a good bowler but not world class.
Rashid 1-53 from 9
A half-tracker from Rashid but Dockrell rather timidly tickles it for a single out to the deep mid-wicket fielder rather than throw the kitchen sink at it. Root is all smiles in the sunshine at slip. Let's hope he remains so when the Test captaincy begins later this summer.

I think Joe Root should bowl more often. He's got a golden arm - look at those wickets in the opening over of the World T20 final.
Target 329
After that safe catch to dismiss dangerman Kevin O'Brien, Ball returns and just the single results, Dockrell frustrated by his inability to get off the mark. We've all been there.
Joe Root takes his third wicket of the afternoon, Gary Wilson his latest victim.
Porterfield 58, Dockrell 0
The target is now 150 from 15 overs and even I can do the math(s).

You fancy that's the killer blow. Kevin O'Brien tried to heave Adil Rashid into the grandstand, and the ball spent a long time in the air before Jake Ball took a good catch.
K O'Brien c Ball b Rashid 18 (Ire 178-6)
This time it is only a cameo from Kevin, no match-winning century today. A big swing at one from Rashid that bounced a little more than he expected, a top edge and a safe catch from Ball at backward square-leg

That's a gorgeous shot. He's given himself room and pierced the gap over extra cover. It's trademark Kevin O'Brien.
Target 329
Six more for the burly all-rounder O'Brien, stepping down the wicket and hoisting it over extra cover with delightful timing. I'd love to see him bat with Stirling. Root completes 10 overs for the first time in an ODI, he finishes with 3-52.
Porterfield 55, K O'Brien 9
Big Kevin is at the crease and even though he gets one off the bottom of the bat with his slog sweep at Rashid it still sails for six over mid-wicket where it is caught in the crowd.

Joe Root's previous best bowling figures for England was 2-9, which was also his best in Tests and T20.
Wilson c Hales b Root 13 (Ire 154-5)
Root bowls a variety of deliveries shall we say, good, bad and ugly, but he has taken three wickets for the first time for England, Wilson skewing an ungainly shot to deep cover.
Niall O'Brien got the better of Joe Root with this six down the ground...
...but the England Test captain had the last laugh.
Target 329
Fifty for Porterfield, from 53 balls, his 14th in his 102nd international. Plenty of appreciation for it from the crowd, which contains a good percentage of good-humoured fans from the emerald isle.

Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
Root should have caught that - he got two hands to it in the end. It was a less than athletic effort. He was sluggish.
Target 329
Root is rushing through these overs, leaving me little opportunity to reveal the many fascinating facts I have for you. Porterfield scythes two more into the cover area in that unorthodox style also favoured by Eoin Morgan, but the required rate ticks over nine.
