  1. 50 runs

50 for Williamsonpublished at 22.4 overs

I've seen games with quicker run rates, let's put it that way, as Rubel Hossain continues. He gets one to lift at Williamson, a similar ball to the one that dismissed him the other day, but he rides the bounce and runs a casual single to bring up his half-century. He seems to have got there in no time at all.

The Bangladesh seamers have done a good job so far and the captain's likely to be inclined to keep them going rather than to turn to some of his other spinners.

  3. NZ 126-2published at 24 overs

Soumya dives like a guitarist playing an epic solo as Williamson tries to thrash the ball to the mid-wicket boundary. Shakib mixes up his speeds a bit, spearing the ball in a bit quicker, and Taylor goes back to pat it away.

  4. NZ 122-2published at 23 overs

    Taylor 26, Williamson 45

Williamson sets off running and then gives up as a lovely on drive goes whizzing past Mustafizur and down to the rope. That brings up the 50 partnership, too, from 60 balls. Bangladesh's fielding could be a touch sharper, as Ross Taylor drops the ball and somehow manages to winkle another quick single out of nowhere.

It looks like the best spin bowler in the world is currently sat having a brew at a pit-stop close to the M6. App users may need to click on the link to view the full tweet.

  6. NZ 116-2published at 22 overs

Taylor uses his feet to a Shakib wider delivery and rolls it down the ground for yet another single. Four singles from the over as a New Zealand fan in shorts - shorts! - grins widely. He's braver than I am.

It's following the pattern of almost every other game I've seen in this tournament so far - 100-2 after 20 overs.

  8. NZ 112-2published at 21 overs

Good running from these two - which I seem to remember hasn't always been the case - allows them to pinch another single from the final ball of Mustafizur's over. Williamson is so key, here. And if he goes, New Zealand can't collapse into a heap again. They need to win today to keep themselves in semi-final contention.

  10. NZ 109-2published at 20 overs

    Shakib 3-0-18-0

Courtney Walsh, who is working with the Bangladesh bowlers at the moment, is watching on from the dressing room while nursing a cuppa. He still looks massively intimidating. Shakib whirls through another over and both Taylor and Williamson work their wrists to keep the score ticking over.

Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor bat in a manner which 20th Century cricketers can understand. They present a vertical bat, for instance!

  12. NZ 105-2published at 19 overs

Another change for Bangladesh, with Mustafizur charging in once again. That's a way to bring up New Zealand's 100, a beautiful push through cover from Williamson, rolling his wrists and gliding the ball to the boundary. That's a tidy over from Mustafizur, though.

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

It's worth reminding people how critical Kane Williamson is to New Zealand. When he was dismissed against Australia, his side lost seven wickets for 37 runs. Similarly, against England it was eight for 65.

  14. NZ 99-2published at 18 overs

    Taylor 19, Williamson 30

That's a huge yelp from Shakib first up, absolutely convinced he's trapped Taylor in front of the stumps. Taylor had gone down to sweep but he definitely connected with it, the ball zipping down to the fine leg boundary. Decent over this from Shakib though, the spinner holding the ball back and striking Taylor on the pad again.

    Athar Ali Khan
Former Bangladesh all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

Back home, Bangladesh have been getting some good reviews. Their build-up has been good, they scored 300 against England and people are pleased with how the team is playing. There are high hopes. People think Bangladesh can win today. If they can somehow sneak a win, they've got a chance to play in the semi-finals. The issue for me today is the batting and whether they have enough to chase the target New Zealand set.

  16. NZ 91-2published at 17 overs

Rubel continues, dragging the length back slightly, and New Zealand work him for a few singles. He seems to zip through the over, which is just as well, as Bangladesh are a little behind on the rate...

Bangladesh have clearly got a plan for Ross Taylor. It's curious - they've got a leg-slip in, for instance. Bangladesh are micro-managing this field at the moment, moving players around continually.

  18. NZ 87-2published at 16 overs

    Williamson 26, Taylor 11

Time for a bit of spin. Shakib's going to have a twirl, with Mushfiqur chattering away behind the stumps in Ross Taylor's ear. There's an almighty pause after the first delivery as the field gets shuffled around before Taylor darts down the wicket for a quick single. Mustafizur is slow to get to it, though, and Williamson has to speed up only fractionally to slide his bat home.

This is a key passage of play - New Zealand have two important players at the crease and we saw how they crumbled when Kane Williamson was out against England.

It's time for drinks, so let's have a look at that Martin Guptill decision. I'm still saying it looked high, but then, there's a reason I've never been asked to umpire...
