Jenny Gunn's been used to this role for England - I didn't have her in the starting line-up today as I was surprised they went with four seamers and I thought Georgia Elwiss might play instead, but Jenny's experience has really helped England through that middle phase and at the death.

  2. Ind 229-2published at 43 overs

Harmanpreet Kaur is in a baseball cap - which is good, but not as good as a wide-brimmed one. That's a no ball from Jenny Gunn, the ball speared in too high, but Mithali Raj can only bunt the free hit away for one. Gunn has been really good today, pace off the ball, and India can't seem to find the boundaries off her bowling.

MD: Raj is the female Kohli. Stylish in everything she does & a brilliant timer of the cricket ball.

Harmanpreet Kaur is the new batsman, and she pats away her first two deliveries from Dani Hazell.

    Raut c Wyatt b Hazell 86 (Eng 222-2)

Fourth time lucky for England! Dani Hazell has come back, speared it in and Raut has tried to slog her through deep mid-wicket. There wasn't enough on it and Danni Wyatt took a good, low catch in the deep. That's a fine innings from Raut, though - she knew she had to go for the boundaries in the last 10 overs.

New Zealand v Sri Lanka (Bristol)

England may look on enviously at New Zealand, who have taken five wickets in six overs against Sri Lanka at Bristol. The White Ferns have reduced their opponents to 157-6 after 43 overs.

  7. Ind 222-1published at 42 overs

    Gunn 8-0-34-0

Jenny Gunn is back, and her first ball gets lofted for four by Punam Raut. That's a nice bit of timing, shovelling the ball over extra cover. Gunn responds with a fine bit of bowling, arm coming over like a swimmer doing a front crawl, finding that full length and Raut dab scoops her away for another single.

  9. Ind 215-1published at 41 overs

    Raut 80, Raj 41

Another good over from Heather Knight, restricting India, but that's a loopy full toss and Mithali Raj has given it the treatment. She's absolutely leathered that through mid-wicket. Knight tuts to herself as she retrieves her cap from the umpire. Just a bit of pressure released by that bad delivery.

That was really a big opportunity for Anya. England have been poor in the field which is not like them, they've put down three chances and had a couple of run-out chances which have been close, so they'll be really disappointed.

  11. dropped catch

Raut dropped on 78published at 40 overs

    Ind 207-1

That's really well bowled by Alex Hartley, tossing it up full and limiting India. And Punam Raut has been dropped again! This time it's Anya Shrubsole that's at fault. That's an easy grab to my mind - Raut was going down the ground and it went straight through Shrubsole's hands, her arms raised above her head.

Is Mithali Raj, in her wide-brimmed sunhat, one of the coolest people in world cricket? Here's that flashing cut shot for four off Katherine Brunt.

  13. Ind 203-1published at 39 overs

An easy single brings up the 200 for India. Mithali Raj shows her the full face of the bat as she pushes back down the ground. This looks very easy for India at the minute. They're well placed for the final overs.

Such is the power of the World Cup, the eight captains now have their own Twitter emojis, an honour previously only bestowed on the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The campaign starts here to get Mithali's emoji to have the floppy hat and book on it.

Down the pitch comes Mithali Raj, and she flicks the ball through mid-on for four. That is such a good shot, full of good timing. She's still batting in that floppy hat, which means everything she does looks five times more elegant than it would if she was in a helmet.

Wicketkeeper Amy Jones, who just failed to make the England squad, reckons the pitch is "a bit of a road". She also confirmed that Katherine Brunt's dog Bailey has been sent on holiday to Yorkshire for the tournament. Apparently he usually comes back "really fat".

    Brunt 7-1-50-0

Shot! Some furious chuntering from Katherine Brunt as Mithali Raj laces a short, wide delivery to the boundary. That's a cracking shot, leaning back and cutting, a mixture of aggression and elegance. Meanwhile there's a fella in the crowd who has fallen asleep, baseball cap shoved over his face. It means he misses another boundary, this time courtesy of Punam Raut.

  18. Two wickets at Bristolpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 24 June 2017

New Zealand v Sri Lanka (Bristol)

New Zealand have made a double breakthrough against Sri Lanka in the other game, removing Chamari Polgampala for 49 and Chamari Atapattu for 51 after a stand of 92. Sri Lanka are 144-3 after 38 overs and the dangerous Eshani Lokusuriyage - who was picked out by TMS's Ebony Rainford-Brent as one of her players to watch - is at the crease.

  19. Ind 183-1published at 36 overs

    Raj 20, Raut 69

I'd say yes, it has. Up until recently it was always Australia and England, with the odd cameo from New Zealand, who were streets ahead of the competition. Over the last five years or so, we've seen that change. Teams like India are becoming more competitive but there's still some way to go until we have eight teams that are fully professional. Alex Hartley resumes and Mithali Raj comes darting down the pitch to keep the strike rotating.
