    Hazell b Yadav 4 (Eng 236-9)

Dani Hazell steps to leg stump, aiming a big slog-sweep over the field, but she misses and the ball clatters into the stumps. There's barely any celebration from India. Heather Knight, meanwhile, trudges over to join her team, hands stuffed into her pockets.

Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special

We all wanted India to come to the party - and they set the tone right from the first over, showing they mean business. After a disappointing 2013 World Cup at home, they've backed themselves and played with confidence, and captain Mithali Raj has clearly done her homework on England.

  3. Eng 236-8published at 46 overs

    Target 282

A paddle shot from Danielle Hazell, trying in vain to find the boundary, but it's only a single. That's really well bowled from Deepti Sharma, spearing the ball into Anya Shrubsole's pads as she comes down the wicket, and England will have to settle for just four runs.

  4. Eng 232-8published at 45 overs

England need 50 from the final 30 balls. They've got two wickets in hand...

England dropped three catches today - here's India's Jhulan Goswami putting down Jenny Gunn a little earlier.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 44.2 overs

Gunn run out (Meshram) 9 (Eng 229-8)

A fourth run out! Another fine throw from India, this time Mona Meshram hammering the ball in towards Sushma Verma from the leg side. It's a good throw and Verma has plenty of time to whip the bails off

  7. Umpire reviewpublished at 44.2 overs

    Eng 229-7

New batsman Anya Shrubsole fumes as a wide delivery from Poonam Yadav isn't called as such. And we're going upstairs again - another run out chance, with Jenny Gunn this time diving to make her ground...

  8. Postpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 24 June 2017

India have been spot on with the throwing today - here's a superb piece of fielding from India's Deepti Sharma as Katherine Brunt was run out for 24.

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

Fran Wilson was batting so, so well - India were ecstatic after that wicket, and England's hopes now rest with Jenny Gunn and Anya Shrubsole, who hits the ball very hard.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 43.5 overs

Wilson run out (Bisht) 81 (Eng 229-7)

Her bat's in the air! That's out! That's a cruel end to a really, really good innings from Fran Wilson. She was halfway up the pitch, trying to steal the single but the bat bobbled up as she dived to make her mark and Ekta Bisht didn't miss.

  11. Umpire reviewpublished at 43.4 overs

    Eng 229-6

We're going upstairs - Fran Wilson might have been run out at the non-striker's end! Jenny Gunn cracked a straight drive back and Ekta Bisht picked it up and threw down the stumps in one swift motion.

  12. Eng 229-6published at 43.3 overs

Jenny Gunn's not timed a delivery yet. She plays a shot that would be better on the golf course, rather than the cricket pitch, a swipe that sends the ball ballooning up into the air but short of the fielders. That's a belter of a sweep shot though, one one knee and hustling the ball through the square leg fielder for four.

Goswami should have done better there - it's perhaps their first error in the field.

  14. dropped catch

Gunn dropped on 1published at 42.4 overs

    Eng 221-6

Shelled! Jenny Gunn, frustrated by three balls, drives down the field but doesn't get enough power behind it. Two fielders converge but it's Jhulan Goswami who gets there first. She moves low to her right, gets two hands to it but she can't cling on.

    Target 282

Lydia Greenway knows a thing or two about excellent fielding. Jenny Gunn is the new batsman and gets off the mark to her first ball.

That's an outstanding piece of fielding. From the moment she picked it up, you thought "she's going to hit" and she did. It could be the turning point.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 41.2 overs

Brunt run out (Sharma) 24 (Eng 216-6)

Gone! That is another brilliant throw, this time from Deepti Sharma! Katherine Brunt is disconsolate as she and Fran Wilson go through for another single and the stumps get tossed down. That was so quick - Brunt was nowhere near getting home!

It's almost as though the arrival of Katherine Brunt at the crease has freed up Fran Wilson to play more shots.

  20. Eng 214-5published at 41 overs

    Target 282

Poonam Yadav is back, throwing those 35mph moon balls up there, and still, England can't batter it to the boundary. There's just no pace for them to work with. That's good from Brunt and Wilson, pushing hard to get two runs.
