  1. Before then, there's the small matter of the first Test between England and South Africa at Lord's. We'll be here bright and early tomorrow morning. See you then.

  2. That means that Australia and India are level at the top of the table on eight points, with England tucked into third on six. They meet the Aussies on Sunday.

  3. Elsewhere, Australia and India have recorded wins and are on the brink of the semi-finals.

    Australia have beaten Pakistan by 159 runs and India have edged out Sri Lanka by 16 runs.

    South Africa were never likely to chase that total but they wanted to get as many as possible, not just for net run rate reason, but for psychological reasons. They've never been this close to a side like England.

    They hit seven sixes to England's one. It's not often you'll do that and lose.

    England will be far more worried about their bowling and fielding. They dropped catches and conceded a lot of runs to this South Africa side. Those are areas they'll need to look at before taking on Australia.

  6. South Africa captain Dane van Niekerk: "After a while it got a bit long, but all credit to Tammy and Sarah. They batted us out of the game.

    "It was difficult, but hindsight isn't the best. We have been relying on her pace bowlers, but the English batters played really well. We took too long to adapt to the conditions."

    "I got a lot of pad rash. Sarah was outstanding and we're pleased that Tammy got a score.

    "The batting line-up is really firing at the moment and it's really nice to have all those players in form. We're felling like we're getting some momentum."

    "The wickets are good and the outfields are fast. If you stay in there play your game, you get the runs. I've learned about myself and about my game.

    "You want to contribute every game. We'll enjoy today and look to the next game."

    Taylor and Beamount were outstanding. They played all around the wicket and South Africa can learn from those innings as they were lacking a bit of discipline at times.

    It was a frustrating bowling performance by South Africa - 100 runs were scored behind the wickets as opposed to 50 in an average game. So they didn't react well to where England were scoring their runs.

  10. South Africa are in a huddle on the outfield. After chasing leather in the sun earlier today, that's probably the last place they want to to be.

    A convincing victory for England on the back of two fabulous centuries by Sarah Taylor and Tammy Beaumont.

    But South Africa gave them a run for their money at times with a few entertaining knocks.

    A run-fest of the likes we have not seen in international cricket this summer.

    That is your lot. Number 11 Moseline Daniels pushed back the final two balls, ending a pretty incredible game. England win by 68 runs and now perhaps only need one more win to reach the semi-finals.

    Another one caught on the deep mid-wicket boundary, the ever-present Nat Sciver out there takes a comfortable catch.

    A nice little innings by Luus but England close to an emphatic win. Probably one of the best wickets we've ever seen in a women's game.

    Although a 220-run defeat is worse than this.

    The highest score against England in an ODI is 299-2 by Australia in 2000.

    I remember that day unfortunately. It was so hot, Belinda Clark scored 146 and I got a golden duck.

    Paul Farbrace was coaching us then - he'd have a good story to tell about that game.

    Charles Dagnall: You took 40 overs to score 79 all out in reply! Forty overs! That's a painstaking innings.

    What fun it was watching Tryon. South Africa can be pretty pleased with this effort. They won't win so that will disappoint them greatly but there really are some positives to take for South Africa.
