Unfortunately she picked out the tallest player in the England team in Jenny Gunn at mid-off, but South Africa are showing good intent right until the end and that's all you can ask.

    Ismail c sub (Gunn) b Knight 0 (SA 285-8)

The late-order procession continues. Shabnim Ismail drives Heather Knight to Jenny Gunn at mid-off, the sub fielder making amends for her earlier drop by taking the catch above her head.

Hazell doing what she does best there, bowling straight at the stumps and I don't think there will be any problems with that. It looked to be hitting middle.

  4. wicket

Kapp lbw Hazell 3 (SA 280-7)

They'll go quickly now. Marizanne Kapp is the latest, sweeping at Danni Hazell and being hit in front. It's been an excellent effort by South Africa, but they are falling away.

Fran Wilson is up there with England's best fielders and she's shown why there with a terrific catch.

    Du Preez c Wilson b Knight 43 (SA 275-6)

From not being able to catch a cold, England are snaffling everything that goes airborne now. Mignon du Preez swings for the fences, but only finds a sliding Fran Wilson, the who takes a smart catch coming in off the leg-side boundary. This one is pretty much done now.

On a different day, that would have been a game-changing knock. She epitomised what this tournament is about - entertainment.

  8. wicket

    Tryon c Knight b Hazell 54 (SA 273-5)

It was fun while it lasted, but one suspects that South Africa's last hope has just departed with Chloe Tryon. Looking for another wallop through the leg side, she picks out Heather Knight at mid-wicket.

I wonder if Mark Robinson is watching this and wishing he'd selected Jenny Gunn.

I wonder if it's worth bringing on Nat Sciver to bowl. She can mix it up with her pace and lengths.

50 for Chloe Tryonpublished at 43.5 overs

    SA 273-4

Good lord, Tryon hits it a long way. There's an argument to say that she should have been in earlier. Hazell is twice walloped over cow corner, the second an absolute monster. That brings up a 25-ball half-century.

  12. SA 257-4published at 43 overs

England are going through their options, this time with skipper Heather Knight kicking her heels up to deliver her off-breaks. To be honest, it doesn't really matter who is bowling, because Tryon is looking to launch everything into orbit. A one-bounce four over mid-wicket, 10 from the over.

    Target 374

England coach Mark Robinson is on the boundary edge, having a chat with Nat Sciver. Danni Hazell is bowling her off-breaks round the wicket while Sarah Taylor bangs her gloves together in encouragement. Mignon du Preez swipes through mid-wicket for four, but eight from the over is a good return for England.

Chloe Tryon is not giving this one up. I love that she is hitting straight. She's really showing her power.

  16. SA 239-4published at 41 overs

    Target 374

I say a minor miracle, but England will want to see the back of Chloe Tryon pretty quickly. A straight six, then four more off Alex Hartley. The way she is hitting, both the umpire and the non-striker are in danger. 15 an over required, 15 come off this set.

  17. SA 224-4published at 40 overs

South Africa will need plenty more of those overs worth 20 to get back in this match. The thing is, though, 20-run overs don't really come along very often. Danni Hazell's next set only costs three. 150 needed from the final 10. A minor cricketing miracle.

  18. SA 221-4published at 39 overs

Oh hello, Chloe Tryon. The new arrival launches Anya Shrubsole downtown for a straight maximum. That's after a boundary and a couple of singles, then followed by a full toss that Sarah Taylor can't gather. Four byes. Then four down the ground! 20 off the over.

Australia have all-but sealed another victory in the competition, reducing Pakistan to 109-7 after 42 overs in reply to 290-8. Kristen Beams has three wickets, but it's Jess Jonassen who has eye-catching bowling figures - 10-6-12-1.

At Derby, Sri Lanka need another 115 runs from 12.4 overs to beat India. They have seven wickets in hand, so it's game on there.

Van Niekerk will be disappointed she couldn't put that away. Hazell followed the batter though, seeing her come down the wicket and dropping it in short.
