As England make their way out to the centre in an attempt to defend their total of 220, let's have another look at the only six of their innings, a straight drive from Jenny Gunn, during an unbroken stand of 48 with Laura Marsh.

I think England could open with Laura Marsh. She has bowled in the powerplay in T20s.

Then as soon as we are past 10 overs I would expect Hartley to come on.

  3. India updatepublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 15 July 2017

At Derby, India and New Zealand are competing for the last of the semi-final places and India are 203-4 with six overs left having been asked to bat first.

  4. Australia updatepublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 15 July 2017

Defending champions Australia, who trail England on run-rate only at the top of the table, have been bowled out for 269 by South Africa at Taunton. Ellyse Perry top-scored with seven fours and a six in her 55 from 58 balls.

  5. England innings reviewpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 15 July 2017

Heather Knight played a captain's innings with five fours in her 67 from 88 balls, aided on occasions by some less than impressive West Indies fielding.

  6. England innings reviewpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 15 July 2017

Let's have a look back at some of the key moments in that England innings and the hosts lost two of their batting lynchpins for ducks, Sarah Taylor first ball and Nat Sciver lasting only one longer.

  7. Eng 220-7published at 50 overs

There has been a fair amount of pain with the West Indies fielding. Kyshona Knight was full of good intent with this one and chased after it, only to drag it back into her other hand and watch it roll agonisingly back over the rope. Matthews falls to the crease again, not because of that fielding, this injury might be more of a concern than first thought. A nice little stand of 48 at the end there for Marsh and Gunn.

Injury concern for Hayley Matthews. She crumpled to the turf having delivered a ball and is clutching her leg. She appears to be in a lot of pain but the physio has provided a bottle of water and a tablet of some description. They are flexing the leg, is it cramp? Finally she's up and we have smiles again.

Jenny Gunn is using those long leavers to hit a maximum. If you use your feet to the ball you can trust this pitch. If England can get close to 220 and 225 they will take the game away from the West Indies, especially with the spinners. England may even open with them.

  10. 6 runs

    Eng 212-7published at 49 overs

    Gunn 22, Marsh 25

A slog sweep from Marsh brings another boundary and then a mighty heave from Gunn at Taylor records the first six of the day, measured at 73 metres, having advanced down the wicket. Profitable for England.

  11. Eng 197-7published at 48 overs

    Gunn 15, Marsh 17

A second boundary for Marsh, bringing out the reverse sweep to dispatch Matthews.

  12. Eng 189-7published at 47 overs

    Gunn 13, Marsh 11

Marsh sweeps Taylor for two as the camera focuses on a man on the boundary edge painstakingly attempting to hollow out a pineapple. Not quite the weather for a pina colada though.

  13. Eng 185-7published at 46 overs

Just singles in the Matthew over. The weather is still less than we might expect in July, cold and overcast. Some West Indies followers shelter under umbrellas. Meanwhile one lady almost comes a cropper in a short dress as she struggles to clamber over a seat.

If England are looking to go big they will have 220 in mind. A run a ball gets them to 210. West Indies will be desperate to keep them under 200. With Laura Marsh turning it on an old pitch England will think they have a good chance here.

  15. Eng 181-7published at 45 overs

    Gunn 10, Marsh 6

Taylor has moved her fielder at short fine leg across to the offside and Laura Marsh sweeps to precisely where the fielder had been and collects a boundary.

It surprised Heather Knight. She did graft today and gave England this base but that was a serious ball.

    WICKETpublished at 43.3 overs

    Knight b Matthews 67 (Eng 172-7)

Hayley Matthews, bowling in a cap a la Geoffrey Boycott, enters the attack and produces the delivery of the day, pitching outside off and spinning sharply in to crash into the timbers.

  18. Eng 170-6published at 43 overs

    Knight 65, Gunn 7

Mohammed skips in for the final time, finishing with 1-32 from her 10 overs, having bowled through unchanged.

  19. Eng 165-6published at 42 overs

Knight increases the rate with successive boundaries off Dottin including a deft leg glance to which the fielding on the boundary is anything but deft, the ball slipping through the hands and then between the boots and trickling over the ropes.

  20. Eng 156-6published at 41 overs

England's run-rate in the final 10 overs of this tournament has been an impressive 8.12 per over, the highest of all the teams but not many added here. There is the classic "Yes, no, maybe" between the batters and Knight is almost at the same end as Gunn, but wicketkeeper Aguilleira cannot collect and the run out chance goes.
