  1. 'Gunn has nerves of steel'published at 17:28 British Summer Time 18 July 2017

England captain Heather Knight: "It was hard watching on the balcony, but we keep finding ways to win in this competition and Jenny Gunn had nerves of steel at the end. Close games are the best to win and the worst to lose but credit to South Africa, what a game of cricket."

Fran Wilson played a crucial role here - certainly enough for the "Fran of the match" award - here she is hitting a four, before that tense moment when she was caught behind.

  3. 'I am really proud of my team'published at 17:26 British Summer Time 18 July 2017

South Africa captain Dane van Niekerk: "We thought we were 30 runs short but knowing my team, we went out there believing, and I am really proud of them and the way they went about it.

"You always have to believe you can win a game of cricket. I said to them it was very close, anything can happen. All credit to the bowlers but well done to England. It was a great game of cricket and I hope the fans enjoyed it."

It all got a bit tense here, so we may not have been able to flag up all the highlights clips - here's two vital boundaries from Jenny Gunn. Or the Gunn-meister, as I will exclusively refer to her as from now on.

An amazing game of cricket. It confounded throughout. Nothing we expected to happen, did happen!

  6. 'A little bit too tense!'published at 17:22 British Summer Time 18 July 2017

Player of the match Sarah Taylor:"It's been a long journey for all of us, but that was a little bit too tense! It wasn't the most enjoyable experience, but we knew we had the depth in our batting. Fran and Jen batted absolutely brilliantly. South Africa played so well, to lose like that is heartbreaking so we hope they do well in the future.

"The crowd here's been fantastic, we just want to thank them all as to get to the final is amazing and we couldn't be prouder of each other."

Isa Guha won the Olympic standing jump record when that winning four was hit.

  8. Player of the match - Sarah Taylorpublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 18 July 2017

For her 54 - and that fantastic stumping - Sarah Taylor is named player of the match. She too is pretty emotional as she accepts the award.

The South Africa team are on their knees, joined by their support staff, just having a conciliatory huddle. But really, what can you say? This will hurt for a while. They've played magnificently, showed some utter fight to get back into this match, and to lose like that...

I think the bowling was unbelievable. England and South Africa were neck and neck in runs, but the bowling was disciplined and without that, South Africa could have put another 20 runs on the board.

The South Africa players have got their arms wrapped around each other, in utter tears of disbelief, while England are high-fiving and looking pretty emotional themselves.

    Dearie me, that was tense.

Dane van Niekerk is utterly disconsolate, sat in tears on the field. In fact quite a few of the Proteas are in tears - to come so far, and then miss out... I can't imagine what that must feel like.

Shrubsole goes straight to the South Africa captain to console her.

SHE HITS IT FOR FOUR! ENGLAND WIN! That is utterly, utterly brilliant from Anya Shrubsole, a step down the wicket and she leathers the ball through the off side for four.

The players are going mad on the sidelines, Heather Knight pumping her fists as she runs down the stairs to grab her team. England are in the Lord's final!

  15. Eng 217-8published at 49.3 overs

Anya Shrubsole, who a second ago was crouched down behind the glass in the dressing room, unable to watch, is now striding to the crease, with two runs needed from three balls.

She's got a fired up Shabnim Ismail to contend with..

Tammy Beaumount's face on the balcony was a picture after that drop by Ismail!

Jenny Gunn isn't having any of it though, working another single to take it to two from four balls...

  19. Eng 216-7published at 49.1 overs

Shabnim Ismail to bowl. Three to win, two for a tie and a super-over. Gunn hits it back to the bowler... and is dropped! Three from five.

  20. Eng 216-7published at 49 overs

Another single down to third man rounds off the over! Lovely bit of work from Gunn, and she gets herself on strike for the final over.

Deep breaths, folks. Just three runs standing between England and a sold out Lord's final...
