  2. wicket

WICKET Eskinazi (b Brooks) 4published at 12:57 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Middlesex 75-2 v Yorkshire

Jack Brooks gets his wicket and it's an absolute beauty!

The headband-wearing seamer sneaks one through the defences of Stevie Eskinazi and the timbers are rattled.

The bowlers are just bringing things back up and down the land as lunch approaches.

  3. wicket

WICKET Westley (c Clarke b Patel) 4published at 12:55 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Essex 68-2 v Warwickshire

Goodness me, Jeetan Patel has turned this game on its head before lunch.

The wily spinner sends Tom Westley packing for just 4 and now has two wickets.

Meanwhile, there's been another wicket at Lord's...

  5. Vince & Bailey rebuildpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Lancashire v Hampshire 71-3

James Vince (17) and captain George Bailey (16) have just steadied things for Hampshire after those three quick wickets.

Ten minutes to go until lunch at Old Trafford - they'll be desperate to see it through.

  6. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Middlesex 66-1 v Yorkshire

Oof, Yorkshire could have had a second there.

Sam Robson smashes one back towards Jack Brooks, but the seamer can't hang on to a difficult low catch.

    Robson survives.

That's the big one for Warwickshire. Alastair Cook is gone.

The Essex opener is pinned in front by experienced New Zealand spinner Jeetan Patel and up goes the finger.

You'd have bet your house on Cooky going on to a century today - good job I only rent.

  8. Mullaney dismissedpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Notts 76-2 v Leicestershire

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Leicestershire have struck for the second time as Gavin Griffiths returns to the attack and nips one back to topple Steven Mullaney’s middle stump over for 40.

Great ovation for Samit Patel after his exploits last week, scoring 257 in the Championship and a match-winning century in the One-Day Cup semi-final at Essex. He joins Brendan Taylor who is 26 not out.

  9. 'Cook the more fluent Essex opener'published at 12:34 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Essex 49-0 v Warwickshire

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

A quiet start here at Chelmsford as the Essex openers look to get themselves established on the same pitch used for Friday's thrilling One-Day Cup semi-final against Notts.

Alastair Cook has been the more fluent against a Warwickshire attack that has given little away.

Essex are without both Jamie Porter and Matt Quinn in this match but have left out Ashar Zaidi who might have played as a second spinner. The plan will be to wear Warwickshire down through crease occupation.

  10. wicket

WICKET Compton (c Hodd b Patterson) 22published at 12:34 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Middlesex 64-1 v Yorkshire

There's the breakthrough for Yorkshire at Lord's!

Nick Compton pushes forward and nicks Steven Patterson behind.

Compton goes for just 22. He'll be disappointed, it's the sort of day where the batsmen need to cash in.

  11. Classic Cookypublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Essex 45-0 v Warwickshire

Rikki, Rikki, you do not bowl there to Alastair Cook.

Clarke bangs one in short and wide to the left-hander and he cuts him away to the fence.

    Cook is up to 27.

  12. Kent lose third wicketpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Division Two update

Elsewhere in Division Two, Kent have just lost a third wicket against Worcestershire.

Joe Denly is gone for 12, caught by Brett D'Oliveira off Ed Barnard to leave the visitors in a spot of bother on 46-3.

Notts have moved to 68-1 with in-form pair Brendan Taylor (26) and Steven Mullaney (33) approaching a fifty stand.

  13. Watchful start for Glamorganpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Durham v Glamorgan 51-1

    Nick Webb
    BBC Wales Sport

Honours even in the early stages at Chester-le-Street with Jacques Rudolph falling for 13, bowled by an excellent delivery by Chris Rushworth.

Nick Selman and stand-in number three Andrew Salter took their time with a watchful approach against a mostly accurate seam attack as the score approached 50.

Durham recalled young batsman Jack Burnham after injury with Keaton Jennings not available ahead of England Lions duty.

Glamorgan have Cardiff MCCU captain Tom Cullen making his county debut behind the stumps and Graham Wagg back after groin surgery, with Chris Cooke and Will Bragg unfit.

  14. 'Hants undo solid start'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Lancashire v Hampshire 43-3

    Kevan James
    Sport Presenter, BBC Radio Solent

Having skillfully negotiated the returning Jimmy Anderson's opening spell in which he got the ball to move around, Hampshire have got themselves into a bit of a pickle.

Three wickets have been lost for just eight runs.

Rilee Rossouw's recent form now is a bit of a cause for concern.

After his 99 against Middlesex (effectively scored with one hand, after cracked a finger in the other) he then got a "pair" against Essex, followed by another nought against Somerset in his next innings.

Despite this, Rossouw had been elevated two places to number three in the last match when James Vince went off to captain England Lions.

Vince returned for this game, and dropped to number four, Rossouw stayed at three but could only muster just four runs. That's 34 in six innings now.

  15. Leicestershire's Raine off injuredpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Nottinghamshire 58-1 v Leicestershire

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Nottinghamshire have made it through the first hour or so of play by losing just one wicket after being put in.

Jake Libby nibbled at a leg side delivery from Dieter Klein and tickled the ball into the hands of wicketkeeper Lewis Hill.

Steven Mullaney and Brendan Taylor, both in the runs with centuries in the One-Day Cup last week, have overcome the loss to take the total to 58-1 after 17 overs.

Leicestershire’s morning has seen them lose the services of Ben Raine, who hobbled off after bowling 3.2 overs.

  16. Postpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Lancashire v Hampshire 40-3

Just the three wickets have fallen in Division One - all of them at Old Trafford.

I wonder how many more we'll see today? I'm going to guess - four.

Alastair Cook will be unbeaten on 193 at stumps.

  17. Steady start from Essexpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Essex 32-0 v Warwickshire

It's all fairly sedate in the Chelmsford sweatbox. Essex are going along at less than two an over, but Warwickshire are bowling good lines.

Alastair Cook is ticking along nicely on 22, while Nick Browne has 11 off 59 balls.

  18. Postpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Middlesex 50-0 v Yorkshire

No such batting woes for Middlesex at Lord's

The hosts have just brought up their 50, with Sam Robson (21) and Nick Compton (19) going along nicely.

I wonder if we'll ever see those two in England whites again?

  19. wicket

WICKET Carberry (c Davies b McLaren) 14published at 12:10 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Lancashire v Hampshire 38-3

Three down! This time Ryan McLaren gets in on the act.

Michael Carberry has a wild hack outside off stump and Alex Davies claims a good low catch behind.

Hants are in a bit of trouble at Old Trafford as skipper George Bailey comes to the crease.

  20. wicket

    WICKET Rossouw (c & b Jarvis) 4published at 12:01 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Lancashire v Hampshire 36-2

Two wickets in two overs for Kyle Jarvis!

Rilee Rossouw miscues one and the skiddy seamer dives forward and clings on.

James Vince is the new man in for Hampshire.
