It was only a matter of time before someone brought that up, Dan. Congratulations for getting in first.

  2. Intervalpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time 19 July 2017

    Surrey 150-9 v Essex

Essex will be absolutely delighted having won the toss. Surrey got themselves off to a blistering start but the wickets began to tumble and there were simply no partnerships and Essex were never under pressure.

Only Kevin Pietersen really showed for Surrey - and he was dropped on 20. Surrey most grateful for his 32-ball fifty. Even with that knock, this total seems a long way below par and Essex are set for a fifth T20 win on the spin at the Oval

Surrey are going to need to bowl their socks off tonight.

I enjoyed Kevin Pietersen's innings immensely but the bowling of Mohammad Amir has been stand-out.

  4. dropped catch

    Surrey 150-9 v Essexpublished at 20 overs

A superb final over from Mohammad Amir featuring only four singles. Four overs, 2-13 for Amir, superb.

  5. wicket

WICKET Batty run out (Westley) 0published at 19.1 overs

    Surrey 146-9 v Essex

Sharp single attempted by Gareth Batty first ball to try and get Tom Curran on strike, he does, but runs himself out in the process, easy work from Tom Westley.

  6. Surrey 146-8 v Essexpublished at 19 overs

Tom Curran finds a boundary to fine leg but yet again, it's Essex's over and with just six balls to go, Surrey appear to be falling well short of a good score.

  7. wicket

WICKET Meaker c Wheater b Bopara 1published at 18.4 overs

    Surrey 142-8 v Essex

Wickets continue to fall as Stuart Meaker chips a catch to point.

  8. Surrey 139-7 v Essexpublished at 18 overs

10 from Paul Walter's final over but that's still a fine spell for someone so inexperienced, four overs, 3-24. Just two overs to go, can Surrey nudge 160?

  9. wicket

WICKET Sam Curran b Walter 12published at 17.5 overs

    Surrey 139-7 v Essex

Sam Curran plays a short-arm jab into the middle tier of the pavilion, lovely strike but then gets totally cleaned up and Paul Walter has his third wicket.

  10. Surrey 129-6 v Essexpublished at 17 overs

Can the Curran brothers lift Surrey to something defendable? They work the angles and run well between the wickets but it's only six from the over, another pretty good one for Essex.

  11. 'It was box-office stuff'published at 19:34 British Summer Time 19 July 2017

I have enjoyed that. It was box-office stuff from Kevin Pietersen with five big maximums, but Surrey needed him at the end because he was doing all the run-scoring for them.

Surrey have lost their way here.

  12. Surrey 123-6 v Essexpublished at 16 overs

With Kevin Pietersen gone, Essex should be confident of keeping Surrey below 160 at the most and you wouldn't think that would be enough. Surrey have slipped away badly.

  13. wicket

WICKET Pietersen c Westley b Walter 52published at 15.5 overs

It's a huge wicket for Essex as Kevin Pietersen tries to clear the rope but only swings Paul Walter down long-on's throat.

  15. wicket

WICKET Pope c Bopara b Walter 6published at 15.2 overs

Ollie Pope tries to uppercut Paul Walter but it's a long boundary to deep point and he only finds the fielder. Who can stay with KP?

  16. Surrey 119-4 v Essexpublished at 15 overs

Through Kevin Pietersen, Surrey have a platform for the last five overs but you still think they need fifty from these overs to be confident.

Ryan ten Doeschate brings himself on and Kevin Pietersen pumps him down the ground for six first ball. Having been dropped on 20, it's now Kevin Pietersen's highest T20 score for Surrey and he raises a first half-century in T20 in England in just 32 balls with one four and fives sixes.

  18. Can anyone find the ball?published at 19:27 British Summer Time 19 July 2017

Derbyshire are motoring along nicely at 76-2 after seven overs in pursuit of 187 to beat Worcestershire.

Billy Godleman is unbeaten on 34 off 18 balls, including this six which disappeared out of New Road. But did they get the ball back? Watch this clip to find out.

  19. Surrey 110-4 v Essexpublished at 14 overs

Ryan ten Doeschate brings back Mohammed Amir. Kevin Pietersen only faces two balls and tries a vicious pull at one of them that only runs for a single.

  20. Surrey 104-4 v Essexpublished at 13 overs

Another wicket for Essex keeps them on top of this innings. If they can pick up Kevin Pietersen soon then Surrey may struggle to post a competitive total.
