Notts Outlaws v Somerset (18:30 BST)

Somerset go into the match as outsiders, but their side is packed with potential match-winners.

Opener Steven Davies, batsman James Hildreth, all-rounder Peter Trego and paceman Craig Overton have all performed on the biggest stage.

This will be no stroll in the park for the Outlaws.

I just mentioned Nottinghamshire's stellar batting card - I did so with good reason.

Earlier this month they smashed their way to 106-0 in the first six overs against Durham - the highest Powerplay score in T20 history.

England opener Alex Hales chipped in with a mere 95 off 30 balls.

What can we expect from the big man this time?

  3. Notts choose to bowlpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 24 August 2017

Notts Outlaws v Somerset (18:30 BST)

News from the middle is that the Outlaws have won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Captain Jim Allenby misses out for Somerset with a hand injury, so Lewis Gregory skippers the side.

Notts Outlaws XI: Wessels, Hales, Moores, Christian (c), Taylor, Patel, Mullaney, Root, Sodhi, Ball, Gurney

Somerset XI: Davies, Myburgh, Trego, Hildreth, Gregory (c), van der Merwe, Overton, Waller, Leask, Groenewald, van Meekeren

On paper, tonight's match could be the pick of the last-eight ties.

Notts Outlaws have arguably the most powerful batting line-up in the competition - with Alex Hales, Riki Wessels, Samit Patel and Brendan Taylor all ready to fire.

But you can never write off Somerset. Their side is full of experience and they know what it takes to reach Finals Day.

    It should be a cracker.

It's all been rather strange this week in the T20 Blast.

There has been a little yellow round thing in the sky, spectators have been supping cool beverages in t-shirts and sunglasses and we've seen some red-hot ball striking.

Who fancies more of the same this evening?!
