Overton for Ball is a fair enough change. Jake Ball looked a little bit bemused by it all in Brisbane - he didn't look like he knew how he was going to get a wicket. Craig Overton is a big, strong lad. Hopefully he will give a bit of added impetus down the order.

Slight confusion there, for which you have my apologies - someone initially said that England were going to bat first. But no. They're going to have a bowl.

It is cloudy, and a new pink ball does swing...

It's time for the toss! It's cloudy, there's a touch of rain in the air - what to do?

Joe Root and Steve Smith shake hands before Smith tosses the coin - and Root calls correctly! They're gonna have a bowl first.

Australia are unchanged, because why change a winning formula? Their three big quicks are all fine after the Gabba.

I wonder if England might be tempted to shuffle their batting line up slightly. Moeen batted well in Brisbane but I think Jonny Bairstow is wasted that far down.

  9. Overton to make Test debutpublished at 02:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

First things first, England are going to make a change.

England didn't go that badly at the Gabba, but they failed to take advantage of the chances Australia offered them, and the tail was merrily bounced out by Australia's quicks.

With that in mind, Craig Overton has become the 681st player to represent England.

He's been given his cap by ex-England spinner John Emburey, and he will play in place of Jake Ball.

Overton has taken eight wickets and, er, made three ducks on the tour so far, but he should strengthen England's tail, as well as offering some extra pace with the ball.

Good morning! Wipe the sleep out of your eyes, grab something warm to drink and get ready for some more Ashes cricket. It's the first men's day-night Ashes Test in lovely Adelaide, which is looking a bit grey this afternoon. I'm going to state the obvious, but I think this match is England's best chance of victory on tour - and if they don't win, this series could all go a bit 2013-14.

We'll have news from the toss in seven minutes time - precise, hey? - but first, let's have a look at how things will work in this day-night Test.

    Ah, Adelaide.

In the past 11 years it's been host to one of the finest England victories you could hope to see, as well as showcasing one of the most engrossing, and ultimately painful, final day's play.

What's it got in store this time around?
