07:52 GMT 18 December 2017England have had their moments in this match, and in this series, and let them slip, but that's not to take anything away from Australia.
Their batsmen have performed when they needed to; the bowlers have been superb, especially at decimating England's tail. This is their moment, and they've earned it.

07:50 GMT 18 December 2017Australia look absolutely delighted, like a bunch of big kids! Steve Smith has the most massive grin on his face. It's like all his Christmases have come at once.
England look reflective, shall we say.

07:49 GMT 18 December 2017Five wickets for Josh Hazlewood, two for Pat Cummins, two for Nathan Lyon, one for Mitch Starc.
An innings built on a magnificent 239 by the captain, and 188 from Mitch Marsh.
A proper team performance to go 3-0 up by Australia.

It's all over!
Australia win by an innings and 41 runs, and they go absolutely cock-a-hoop out in the middle. They've utterly outplayed England.

Dukkhaboy: This is not ‘gutless’ from England - just watch Anderson bat. Australia are simply better and at home. People who say it’s a question of character are missing the point

07:43 GMT 18 December 2017I won't sugar coat this - England are one wicket away from losing the Ashes.
Australia have made light of a three-hour delay because rain leaked through the covers and left damp patches on the pitch, taking five England wicket to put themselves on the brink of an innings win in Perth and an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series.
Dawid Malan resisted to the tune of 54, but Australia's bowlers - led superbly by Josh Hazlewood - have blown England's tail away. It is a familiar tale...

Second ball: defended.
A massive cheer from the England supporters.

71.4 oversMitch Starc's bang on the money straight away, firing it in full and fast at Chris Woakes' toes.
Stoic from Chris Woakes. He shows Starc a straight bat, defending back down the pitch, before a drifting short ball is helped over short leg for a couple.
Two balls for Anderson to face...

Australia have the world’s best batsman, they’re at home and they have a great bowling attack. Am I alone in thinking we haven’t done that badly?

When this shift is finished we're all off for a pint with Joe and let his positive outlook just flow over us...

07:39 GMT 18 December 2017Mitch Starc is back! There's really no weak bowler in this Australia line-up, is there?
Eng 217-9published at 71 overs
71 oversThat's a beauty. An absolute peach from Pat Cummins beats the outside edge of Chris Woakes' bat, the ball shaping away from his prod forward.
Woakes ducks under two bouncers, then the third, misses it and sets off for a run anyway. Tim Paine shies - and misses! Sneaky from England, and clever. It stops James Anderson facing Josh Hazlewood.

Sam Rosser: Losing in Oz is no disgrace. But 3 consecutive capitulations shows a lack of fight and discipline throughout the whole set up. This team has culture issues, and it’s about time people started admitting it
Robert Hinchcliffe: with the series gone, on form they should drop Broad, Cook and Moeen for the next test but I'd be shocked if they actually did do that, would be a brave statement though
Eng 216-9published at 70.1 overs
70.1 oversJames Anderson angles his bat, drops the ball down and runs a single.
He's got an almighty mark on the side of his head from where he was struck. Nasty.

07:34 GMT 18 December 2017James Anderson has called for the physio. They bring him some tablets out and he takes a long swig of water. He nods his head, puts his helmets back on and punches gloves with Chris Woakes.
He knows what's about to come his way.
Eng 215-9published at 70 overs
70 oversChris Woakes pulls the final delivery high into the air, the fielders converge, all eyes skyward - and it lands over their heads and away for four.
That does mean James Anderson will have to face an over of Pat Cummins.

69.3 oversOh, Josh Hazlewood is close with the first ball, Chris Woakes pushing forward, and an edge balloons up and over short leg.
Hazlewood runs in. Woakes defends.
