  1. Not outpublished at 6 overs

    Aus 59-2 (target 156)

It has pitched outside leg stump so that's the end of that and Short can continue on 28.

That's seriously good pace from Chris Jordan. I think it's a little down leg side though.

  3. Umpire reviewpublished at 6 overs

A bit of a mixture in that one from Jordan, up at 90mph but there were some full tosses in there and 15 from it. The last ball is a fine yorker, however, it fells Short and England have asked for a review.

  4. 6 runs

    Australia 54-2published at 5.3 overs

    Target 156

What a shot this is from Maxwell. A slower one from Jordan and Maxwell swivels and dispatches it over mid-wicket to bring up the fifty.

No footwork from D'Arcy Short but his balance is excellent.

  6. 6 runs

    Aus 44-2published at 5 overs

    Target 156

Tom Curran is the second change, his hair neatly gelled back and shaved at the sides a la Matt Goss (one for the teenagers). The spirited Surrey paceman starts well but his final ball is swished nonchalantly down the ground by Short with a minimum of movement, 85 metres that has gone.

Jordan varied his pace really well there with plenty of chops and changes.

  8. Aus 34-2published at 4 overs

    Target 156

Chris Jordan replaces Wood, his extravagant gold chain glimmering in the bright floodlights. He's up at 87mph and mixes in some slower ones too, with only singles conceded. An impressive start from the Sussex all-rounder.

Both teams are playing their 97th T20 international today. England have won 46 of their matches, Australia have won 49 of theirs.

Now please stay with me on this one because I spent most of yesterday on this, which team do you think has played the most T20 internationals? Well it's Pakistan, with 123.

  10. 6 runs

    Aus 30-2published at 3 overs

    Short 18, Maxwell 7

Woudn't bother even looking for that, let alone chasing it! A magnificent pull from Short off Willey and it sails into the second tier. Maxwell maintains the momentum with his first four.

  11. Aus 18-2published at 2 overs

    Target 156

Durham paceman Mark Wood shares the new ball and he is rakishly pulled to the boundary by Mr D'Arcy, or D'Arcy Short as he is probably more commonly known, given that is his name. Left-hander Short (he's the one pictured walking out to a fiery backdrop) then strokes the next one through the covers for four more and pulls three more through mid-wicket.

  12. Aus 6-2published at 1 over

It's the 'Big Show' next, Glenn Maxwell, and he is greeted with an 83mph yorker that whizzes past the off stump. He gets off the mark with a push off the back foot into the off side. What an over.

When Willey pitches it up, he's so good. It's such a skill to get that movement.

The classic left-arm paceman's dismissal to the right-hander, swinging in, clipping the pad and rattling into the timbers. What a start from Willey, two wickets in three balls.

First ball thumped over his head for four, but the second one is straight into the hands of deep square-leg. Game on.

Meanwhile, have you heard about Australia's newest boyband? Here's a sneak peak of their new album cover. (Don't worry, it's not really happening) The best sporting singers still have to be Glenn and Chris don't they? Diamond Lights?, external Classic. Anyway, David Willey has the new ball.

Bryan Smith: England's score seems under par after the start, but it's encouraging they keep going after it. They're winning a lot more games than they lose with this freedom. Just won ODI series 4-1, with a bit of luck would've been 5-0. Keep it up lads.

Morgan said at the toss that he didn't think spin would be a factor so England have only the one tweaker in Rashid, with Liam Dawson not selected and Moeen Ali rested for the series.

Tom Curran was the star of the show as he rattled through the Australians with 5-35 in the final ODI in Perth last month. So will he, Wood, Jordan and Willey have the firepower in partnership with Rashid's box of tricks to defend 155? We are about to find out.
