That's a horrible sight, seeing Travis Head hit in the neck area. He knew he was in trouble early and tried to sink his head down between his shoulders.

That was a slippery, skiddy bouncer by Mark Wood.
Target 482
Ooofff. Travis Head takes on on the, erm, head. It was a bumper from Mark Wood that hit Head on the shoulder then rattled into the side of the skull. 86mph, not nice, but Head is immediately back into position, ready for the next delivery. Encouragingly for England, Wood is tipping the speedo over to 90mph.

Andy Porter: The Aussies must have nightmares about playing England at Trent Bridge in any form of cricket.
Willey 2-0-20-1
Shaun Marsh, who made a century on Saturday in Cardiff, is the new man. Willey is trying to attack the stumps, but occasionally the ball slides down the leg side. Plenty of exercise for the umpire's arms. Trent Bridge is almost silent, as if all the energy was expended in the England innings.

That was judged well by Moeen Ali and taken just above the grass.

There was a lack of intent in that stroke by D'Arcy Short. He should've swung through the ball.
Short c Moeen b Willey 15 (Aus 27-1)
England strike. D'Arcy Short, a real dangerman, goes playing a nothing shot. The left-hander plays David Willey on the leg side, but doesn't commit to the stroke. The result is a tame leading edge to mid-on, where Moeen Ali takes a smart low catch.

Christian Evans: How is it that England can barely pass 350 in Tests but just smashed 481 in 50 overs?!
James Vicary: This talk about the match being boring because it's too easy is nonsense to me. You want to attract more viewers this is how, I chose the cricket over the World Cup because of this match. More flat pitches please and I guarantee you get more kids playing and watching.
I reckon we could be in for a bit of fun this evening. Travis Head throws his hands at a wide one from Mark Wood and gets four over point. I doubt Australia will get anywhere near, but I they will go down swinging. By the way, while England were belting 481, this was happening in Russia...

Australia are taking a leaf out of England's book - if you commit to the shot, you'll get your rewards.
Target 482
A big shout from Willey against Short, but that inside edge can be heard in Mansfield. Two fellas in the crowd carry a pair of pints each as Willey strays down the leg side. You know how I said Australia were behind the rate? They're plenty up with it now.
Same place, four more. It might be quite good fun if D'Arcy Short hangs around for a little while.
Now we've started. David Willey's first ball. Left-hander Short eases it over extra cover for Australia's first maximum.
James Anderson

England should bowl as straight as they can and set the field for that. They know they're going to get chances as Australia have to go so hard at it.
Target 482
The light is fading a touch at Trent Bridge. The floodlights are on. D'Arcy Short chews gum through the grille of his helmet as Mark Wood starts with a full length. Just one slip in place. Six off the over. Australia already behind the required rate.
Enough of looking back, though. The players are back in the middle, with Australia looking at the foot of a mountain. D'Arcy Short and Travis Head at the crease, Mark Wood with the ball.
And then a little moment of history...
After Bairstow fell doing this...
...Alex Hales took England into record-breaking territory.
Jason Roy looked set for a second straight century, only to run himself out by attempting a risky second...
But Jonny Bairstow did go on to reach the milestone with yet another tremendous six...
