  1. Ind 61-3published at 10.4 overs

Down the pitch comes Virat Kohli, whipping Adil Rashid over the leg side, but a fine sprawl down in the deep from Jonny Bairstow keeps the ball away from the boundary rope.

Shot! Kohli gets down on one knee and thumps a sweep through mid-wicket and away for four. He absolutely mullered that.

  3. Ind 52-3published at 10 overs

Liam Plunkett continues, and he gets a quicker delivery to bounce over Virat Kohli's bat as the India captain shapes to cut.

Ooft. Suresh Raina shuffles back into his crease and almost stands on his stumps as he flicks the ball off his hip and down to backward square. There's some work for India to do as we reach the halfway stage.

I've had that dream where you can't get your pads on quick enough and you're timed out. That's a sad cricketer's dream.

  5. Ind 48-3published at 9 overs

    Kohli 12, Raina 14

Adil Rashid tosses the ball up and Virat Kohli is all wrists as he drives it through the covers for an easy two.

There's the googly, and Kohli reads it early, flicking it through the leg side with a roll of the wrists. Good running, this, and Kohli takes seven runs from the over.

Daniel Stevanato: I score for Pudsey Congs in Leeds and our opponents Baildon can't get enough players to turn up for a 9am start so it's a regulation 1pm start for us. Somebody is going to be conveniently bowled shouldering arms at about 2:56pm.

  9. Ind 41-3published at 8 overs

Chris Jordan mixes up his lines and lengths and Raina and Kohli plonk the ball around for a couple of singles.

A deft little glide from Raina is the pick of the bunch, before Kohli cuts a gimme of a short ball away for one.

Raina sweats on the short ball because he doesn't play it well. This was almost pre-meditated. That was a slower short ball from Plunkett, he rolled his fingers over it.

  11. Ind 36-3published at 7 overs

Virat Kohli chases after a short ball from Liam Plunkett, before thinking better of that and gliding the next delivery down to third man for a leisurely single.

Four! Suresh Raina goes for the pull shot and it's not convincing, but there's enough oomph behind he shot to get it over the head of the lurking fielders at mid-on and away to the boundary.

I'd just play the game, as much as I love football. I've got a game starting on the day of the World Cup final? Shall we just can that?

  13. Ind 31-3published at 6 overs

    Raina 8, Kohli 1

Virat Kohli is off the mark with a quick single - and Suresh Raina, unlike Shikhar Dhawan a bit earlier, commits to a full-length dive as Chris Jordan comes sweeping in to try and whip the bails off.

Ouch. A bit of extra bounce from Jordan, and Raina ends up taking a bit of a tap on the ribs.

Chris Jordan is into the attack - and that'll be four!

A bit leggy, a bit loose, and Suresh Raina tickles it past Jos Buttler and away for four.

Rahul was trying to carry on where he left off the other day, but he's not given himself chance. It just shows that sometimes, even in T20 cricket, targeting the top of the stumps works.

    KL Rahul b Plunkett 6 (Ind 22-3)

    Gone!

Liam Plunkett has stitched KL Rahul up wonderfully well. A short ball keeps him on his toes, then Plunkett bangs in a straight delivery and Rahul misses it. He goes for a huge heave and ends up swinging at fresh air, the ball just tickling the bail from the off stump.

    Superb start for England.

It's completely bizarre. He never seemed to have control of his bat. It's actually very sloppy.
