England will have about an hour and 10 minutes to bowl at India tonight before all day tomorrow.

Plenty of time to wrap up a 4-1 series victory.

How long will India's resistance last? They need 464 to win, which would be a Test record of course.

So when is Alastair Cook getting a bowl then?

There's plenty of movement in the pitch and England will have a nice new ball. You get the feeling that the stuffing has been knocked out of India.

    India need 464 to win

And there it is. Joe Root comes out on to the balcony to deliver the signal.

England declare on 423-8 and set India a highly improbable 464 to win the fifth Test.

This time Sam Curran top edges a hoik straight up and Rishabh Pant completes a simple catch.

    Will England declare now?

Normally, I'd be quite pro-England declaring and having a lengthy bowl. However, if Adil Rashid is going to keep on playing shots like this, then I'm fine with watching them bat for a bit longer.

    Curran 15, Rashid 20

Adil Rashid tries to whip through mid-wicket but edges it over slip and away for two. He loves that whip to leg but playing it against the direction Ravindra Jadeja is spinning is bold.

He'll keep doing it though and again it just about drops safe for two more.

Rashid then goes down the ground and just misses out on a six as the ball bounces once over the rope.

He saves the best for last - slicing adeptly backward of point for four more. That's 12 from the over.

Christopher Walker: The worst feeling in cricket - knowing the other side are batting for a declaration, you take a wicket, you hope that the other side will declare and the next batter comes out of the pavilion.

Bang! Rashid skips down to Hanuma Vihari and smashes it through the covers for four.

The ball before lifted viciously off a length. England won't mind seeing that.

A single off the last as Rashid keeps the strike.

  12. Eng 400-7published at 110.2 overs

Well now. Adil Rashid swoops his batter over to the leg side and plays a sort of reverse drive very fine and away for two runs.

A heck of a shot. And that's 400 up for England for the first time this summer.

And the cameo comes to an end.

Ben Stokes tries to clear deep mid-wicket but picks out KL Rahul near the fence.

He's India's safest pair of hands and makes no mistake.

Were you worried Ben Stokes had lost the ability to leather a ball after his innings of digging in this summer?

He has not. Stokes launches Ravindra Jadeja deep into the stands down the ground.
