And that's where we're going to leave it while you read the match report. There's plenty more cricket on the BBC this week - TMS are back in action from The Oval tomorrow for the start of England's men's one-day series against Australia (while Scotland and Ireland are in action against Pakistan and the Dutch again).

On Thursday, you'll be able to listen to both One-Day Cup play-offs (de facto quarter-finals) while further afield, Afghanistan make their Test debut against India.

And on Friday, I'll be back for the deciding third women's ODI between England and South Africa at Canterbury. As they used to say on Terrahawks, "Stay On This Channel". Hope you'll join us then. Bye for now.

  3. Man of the matchpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 12 June 2018

England keeper Sarah Taylor on Sky: "It's a nice place to come, I grew up playing cricket here and it's great to make a contribution. I think Tammy and I compliment each other well, we have a lot of fun and she brings out the best in me.

"Worcester was a bad day at the office but once you're in on such a good wicket you have to make the most of it. Lizelle Lee is such a talented batsman and the ball can go miles but Sophie Ecclestone was brilliant with the way she came back. We've just got to keep doing what we do best."

  4. Captain's viewpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 12 June 2018

England captain Heather Knight on Sky: "Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont got us off to a good start, Tammy and Sarah Taylor then played really well and to get 300 on the board was great for us.

"When you lose by a big margin like we did, it's almost easier to move on quickly. The pitch was an absolute belter, and they really latched onto the balls they could score off. But the bowlers were outstanding, especially Katherine and Anya."

  5. Captain's viewpublished at 20:18 British Summer Time 12 June 2018

South Africa captain Dane van Niekerk on Sky Sports: "It was like a runaway train, we know the quality of Sarah and Tammy, we couldn't execute our lines and lengths and they made us pay.

"You have to believe you could chase these scores down, we started believing but the middle order let the team down. We can't take anything tor granted, England are the world champions and they made us pay. They were deserved winners."

    Some reaction coming up...

South Africa batting out their overs could be good from a net run-rate point of view in the ICC Women's Championship. But Khaka struggled with her line today, which meant at the other end Kapp had to keep it tight rather than try to take wickets.

You had to be really disciplined as a bowler today as anything overpitched was punished. England used their variations well, South Africa could have been a bit more pro-active there as when Marizanne Kapp took pace off the ball, it was difficult for England to score off her. Ismail coming up the hill was a waste, she's one of the quickest bowlers in the world and she was taken off after her first over.

I was surprised they changed the team today, but Georgia Elwiss has been in brilliant form with the bat. For me, Laura Marsh is one of the most experienced spinners in the world and she offers a lot with the bat, so there shouldn't be a knee-jerk reaction based on today's performance, even though there are a few others knocking on the door.

Here's the last wicket of the day as Katherine Brunt got rid of Ayabonga Khaka.

It's been a brilliant game to watch - England were under pressure after losing in Worcester, with the series and the ICC Women's Championship points on the line. South Africa got off to a poor start with the ball and they couldn't really stop the England batters.

Belatedly, Kapp guides a single through mid-wicket. Ntozakhe knocks the penultimate ball for one, and Kapp plays the last ball back to the bowler. Job done!

ENGLAND WIN BY 69 RUNS TO SQUARE SERIES AT 1-1.

  13. SA 260-9published at 49.3 overs

Brunt bowls - with the game literally gone, Kapp turns down a single as though she just wants the batting practice. Even a back-of-the-hand delivery from Brunt can't make the breakthrough.

Ntozakhe sutvives. We've made it to the last over.

  15. How's stat?!published at 19:59 British Summer Time 12 June 2018

    Phil Long
    TMS statistician

There have been 10 sixes in this innings. That's only been surpassed once in a women's ODI when England hit 11.

  16. WATCH: Ismail out caught and bowled by Marshpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 12 June 2018

Here's that steepling catch Marsh took a little earlier:

  17. 6 runs

    SA 260-9published at 48.4 overs

Kapp goes after Marsh, lofting the ball which thuds into the boundary foam at long-on. Kapp then knocks the ball to long-on, they come back for two and Ntozakhe would have been out if it had hit.

    Still the inevitable is delayed...

  18. SA 251-9published at 48 overs

Ntozakhe fends off a short delivery that doesn't really rise up much, while Brunt and Kapp share a joke as the bowler walks back to her mark. And I clearly underestimated the number 11 as she survives the over.

Given the required rate now exceeds 36 runs per over, I'll stop putting the target up if that's OK?

  19. SA 251-9published at 47.3 overs

    Target 332

Brunt in for her penultimate over. Kapp takes a single off the third ball, leaving the number 11 to face Brunt.

I'm going out on a limb here but "fast, full and straight" might be an option here...
