    Sussex Sharks 98-3 v Somerset

Max Waller back on for a third over, who it turns out decided to pull off that forward roll earlier because that was the celebration choice his Twitter followers chose in a poll he ran this week.

What do they say, never trust the public?

No such celebrations in this over, which is a much more sedate affair without a boundary, but does cost seven runs.

Jamie Overton returns after a bit of an expensive first over. Luke Wright finds another four to take him into the 40s.

Nice cut shot behind square on the offside.

Halfway stage of the Sussex innings and the Sharks have a handy platform here for a big score.

  3. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Sussex Sharks 84-3 v Somerset

Roelof van der Merwe rattles through an over fairly quickly when there's no boundaries in it.

Just what Somerset need here as they keep trying to apply the brakes.

    Six singles from it.

  4. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Sussex Sharks 78-3 v Somerset

David Wiese comes out to join Luke Wright (35 not out) in the middle and survives and ambitious leg before shout from Waller early on.

Delray Rawlins' entertaining knock is over and Max Waller celebrates in style with a forward roll!

He had been reverse swept the ball before for another four but Rawlins tried to go big again and just leading edged it high into the afternoon sky for wicketkeeper Steven Davies to grab.

    All about Waller's celebration though!

    Sussex Sharks 68-2 v Somerset

Four more for Delray Rawlins off Roelof van der Merwe as he keeps the run rate ticking nicely.

  7. Taylor sends Evans packingpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

In case you missed it, here's how Somerset picked up their second wicket in this Sussex innings.

A less than happy Laurie Evans was sent on his way for just 8.

Delray Rawlins into the six-hitting action off the first ball Roelof van der Merwe delivers to him.

Brutal hit. Skips down the pitch to him and sends it into the first six rows in the Pavilion End.

  9. Powerplay donepublished at 6 overs

    Sussex Sharks 55-2 v Somerset

Lewis Gregory went through his range of tricks in that over, despite the six from Luke Wright.

Looks like a bit of pace off the ball will make it trickier for the batsmen out there.

Powerplay done for Sussex who reach 55-2 from their first six overs after electing to bat first.

  10. 6 runs

    Sussex Sharks 54-2 v Somerset

Luke Wright in the business again with a third six of his innings!

Down on one knee off Lewis Gregory and sends him down to long-off over the rope.

They take the Mascots' Grand National very seriously here at Edgbaston.

It proved a very sore point up a couple of years back when the Wolverhampton Wanderers mascot Wolfie ran the Midlands Grand National in his running spikes while the rest were all lumbering round in their massive Jeux Sans Frontières boots!

He virtually lapped the field. And was then disqualified.

And now we've had another disqualification here today.

River the Bear, who clearly, to the crowd's shock and displeasure, didn't circumnavigate the giant white cricket ball - the fifth obstacle - and almost ended up getting past the more fleet-footed Charlie the Fox on the line.

The crowd knew though. And they willed Charlie home to huge cheers.

    Sussex Sharks 46-2 v Somerset

Delray Rawlins the new man in at four for Sussex and he was almost out twice off his first ball!

The left-hander was nearly caught at point by a diving left hand and then he was miles away from safety as he came through for the single and wasn't even in the frame next to that frame had the throw hit the stumps.

WICKET Evans (lbw b Taylor) 8published at 4.2 overs

    Sussex Sharks 44-2 v Somerset

Wicket time again for Somerset and at a very useful time.

Laurie Evans is pinned on the boot by a Jerome Taylor full toss and has to go leg before.

Evans far from happy with that by looks of things and I have to sympathise with him as it might have been sliding past leg stump.

  14. Postpublished at 4 overs

    Sussex Sharks 44-1 v Somerset

Skipper Lewis Gregory has a bowl for Somerset to try and tighten things up.

Luke Wright tucks into another four with a lovely leg glance down to deep mid-wicket.

    Sharks ticking along healthily here.

  15. Somerset strike early to rub Salt into Sussex woundspublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

Here's the only Sussex wicket to fall so far.

    Sorry for the terrible pun....

An over-head-height no ball from Jamie Overton in what will go down as a fairly forgettable first over from him.

Sussex off to a flier here even after losing Phil Salt early.

Does Jerome Taylor have the best beard ever seen on Finals Day? It's certainly a contender.....

Jamie Overton in for his second ball to Luke Wright and it's the same result.

Six more from the Sussex captain as this time his lofted drive over extra cover has just enough distance to clear the rope.
