  1. WI 26-0published at 6 overs

    Campbell 15, Gayle 5

    Shot!

John Campbell gets down on one knee, flicks his head out of the way and ramps Curran's final delivery over his shoulder and away for four. Campbell wasn't even looking at the ball and somehow managed to middle it.

  2. WI 22-0published at 5.5 overs

Chris Gayle rolls his wrists on a Tom Curran short ball, and manages to hustle a single through the leg side.

John Campbell can't resist a little tickle at a slower ball from Curran, but he gets enough bat on a leggy delivery to pick up four through fine leg.

  4. WI 17-0published at 5 overs

    Gayle 4, Campbell 7

Close! Mark Wood cranks up the speed and whistles a 90mph delivery through the massive gap between John Campbell's bat and pad.

That's a loose shot, the Windies opener playing and pushing away from his body, and Campbell and Gayle can only work a couple of singles from the over.

Excellent control from England first up.

  5. WI 14-0published at 4 overs

That's too full from Tom Curran, and a meaty swing of John Campbell's bat helps the ball race away for four through mid-wicket.

Curran whistles down a bouncer that's instantly called wide by the umpire, before Curran goes leaping after the ball as Gayle gets a drive down the ground all wrong.

Hopefully the bowlers will have their turn today after we showed what we can do with the bat.

  7. WI 8-0published at 3 overs

    Gayle 3, Campbell 1

The first four of the match - but it's leg byes, rather than runs!

Mark Wood loses his line as he tries to get the ball to go across John Campbell, and the batsman gets enough thigh pad on ball to help it trickle on down to the fine leg boundary.

  9. WI 2-0published at 2 overs

It's a bit grey and grim in Bridgetown, as Chris Gayle gets a thick outside edge on a Curran delivery. There's easily two runs there, but this is Gayle, so West Indies have to settle for a sauntered single instead.

That's a good ball from Curran to end the over, drawing John Campbell forward and just getting the ball to swing past the bat as he prods forward.

Ryan Berry: Cottrell at 6 and Curran at 8 is an interesting lineup, looks to be a day for not an early collapse for either team.

And from the other end, it'll be Tom Curran.

  12. WI 1-0published at 1 over

Chris Gayle takes a leisurely single down to third man to get West Indies on the scoreboard, before Mark Wood rips a angled delivery straight through John Campbell. That looked quick to me...

  13. WI 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Outside off stump from Mark Wood, and Chris Gayle leaves it well alone.

    Right then, here we go.

It'll be Mark Wood to open the bowling by the looks of things.

I was really impressed with Tom Curran in the Big Bash - he uses his variations really well, and I'm looking forward to seeing him up against Chris Gayle.

Today's pitch is next to the one used on Wednesday (on the left), but it looks very similar - hardly any grass visible, although, with a few showers around this morning, you wonder whether it might be a little harder for the batsmen today.

England managing director Ashley Giles, speaking to the Test Match Special podcast: "I'm about 99.9% sure that I want one man to do that job in the future.

"The last thing we want is a football-style mentality where a guy comes in, brings his whole backroom staff with him, and the whole structure falls apart.

"I think consistency of communication is really important."
