Ooooof. Jason Roy comes within a whisker of losing his wicket in the third over. He tries to pull Junaid Khan hard through the leg-side but under-edges the ball an inch or two above his own stumps.

    He gets four.

    Target 341

James Vince has not played in a List A game on this ground since 2012. That day he scored 102 not out for Hampshire against Notts.

There's a bit of swing for Hassan Ali here and Vince can only scamper a single in the over.

It's a curious old world where 340 doesn't seem like enough. Even if England don't knock them off, it will feel like they've lost a low-scorer. As if they've failed to chase 220 in old money.

  5. Eng 6-0published at 1 over

    Roy 1, Vince 5

But that's the bad side of Vince. He has a silly fiddle at the next delivery and the ball only just misses his edge. I'm not sure it would have carried to Sarfaraz mind.

Jason Roy has a big slash on the final ball too. England aren't going to sit back and take this one slow.

James Vince didn't try to hit it too hard, he just placed it with nice timing. That exemplifies how good a pitch this is.

James Vince is simply delectable to watch sometimes. Until he nicks off in the thirties.

  8. Eng 5-0published at 0.2 overs

Oh James Vince that is good.

He really has got every shot in the book. He hits a stunning back-foot punch for four off his first delivery.

England are away immediately with a tuck off Jason Roy's hip.

    Target 341

Jason Roy got England off to a flier along side Jonny Bairstow in the last match when England successfully chased a bigger target of 359.

Today James Vince is playing instead of Bairstow.

Can England get off to the same rapid start?

    Perfect timing.

    Here come the players.

Can England chase this down? They need 341 to win.

Today was the second time Shoaib Malik has been out hit wicket. Eight players have been out hit wicket twice but he has longest gap - a 16-year gap.

But let's get to the best moment of that innings - Mark Wood's wicket of Shoaib Malik.

It goes down as one to Wood but he didn't do a lot to take it.

Malik just whacked his own stumps when on 41!

Jofra Archer impressed again and was the most economical of the bowlers.

    He took 1-62.

This fine catch from Mark Wood saw Archer dismiss Asif Ali.

Mark Wood also bowled well in his first game since March.

He bowled quickly and on this flat pitch that sometimes meant he leaked runs...

But he finished with a very respectable 2-71.

Here's the wicket of Mohammed Hafeez. We'll get to his second wicket in a mo.

Eight of Tom Curran's last 16 wickets have come from slower balls.

The battle between the bowlers for a place in England's World Cup squad shows no sign of slowing down.

Today Tom Curran made his case.

He was the most successful England bowler taking 4-75 from his 10 overs.

Number three Babar Azam was the mainstay of the Pakistan innings.

He scored 115 from 112 balls.

He was one of the batsmen guilty of not upping the scoring rate. Ramiz Raja questioned whether he was too distracted by his milestone.

Regardless, he still still hit some good shots...
