This one has been the best shot of a 75-ball hundred...

It's a brilliant way to bring up your hundred. The power, to hit that flat over cover for six... I thought he mis-hit it at first, it was so crisp. Well done, Jason Roy.

  3. 100 runs

100 for Roypublished at 23.4 overs

A stunning way for a world-class player to get to a fine century.

Jason Roy clubs Mohammad Hafeez over the off side and into the stands.

He takes off his helmet and punches the air. That one means something after his injury problems and near misses in the series.

  4. Eng 163-1published at 23.2 overs

Roy to 95! More good footwork from the Surrey opener and he hits it so hard there's no stopping it.

  5. Eng 157-1published at 23 overs

Roy and Root have not been put off by that risky single. They're tapping and running to keep the score taking over. No breakthrough for Hassan Ali on his return.

He's not the most elegant of movers, Joe, but he had his skates on. He had to get the dive out in the end,

  7. Eng 154-1published at 22.1 overs

Don't run yourselves out, boys! This would have been very tight had Babar Azam hit with the throw from backward point. Joe Root dived to make his ground and I'm still not sure he'd have made it.

England have been ahead of the required rate for the vast majority of this chase. That means they can offered the odd quiet over. Four singles come from this one.

About 10 green-jacketed stewards have just rushed past me. When I followed, a chap warns me to stand still. At that moment, the stewards strong arm a youngish man who has spent too much time at the bar. He's pushed through the gate, his day over.

  11. Eng 151-1published at 21.4 overs

Roy has played all around the wicket today. He's on 86 from 67 without breaking sweat.

  12. Eng 149-1published at 21 overs

    Roy 85, Root 17

And with that big over the worms move apart again.

Now - can Roy get to the hundred he's been close to all series?

Jason Roy has hit scores of 75 or more three times in a row - it's third time in his career he's done that in succession.

    And again!

This one stays below the height of a Steve Harmison all the way from Jason Roy's bat to the boundary.

The flattest of powerful flat sixes.

The crowd are awoken from their snooze by some brilliant invention from Jason Roy.

We see these scoops so often these days that it just seems normal but you've got to take a moment to admire this.

It's a good ball from Junaid but is flicked high into the evening sky and all the way for six.

It feels as if England are just strolling to victory here.

  18. Eng 131-1published at 20 overs

Now then. Is a Mankad on the cards?

With Joe Root at the non-striker's end Mohammad Hafeez stops in his bowling action. Was he threatening to run out Root who had just left his ground?

The crowd all boo the Pakistan all-rounder regardless.

Hafeez holds his hands up as if to apologise. He might actually be saying that he didn't stop because of a potential Mankad. Hafeez may just be saying he lost his run-up.

Well there was very little threat in that comeback over from Junaid Khan. Pakistan dropped a bowler for a batsman for this game and they feel a bowler short now. There's no mystery spin for them to turn to.
