Another nice drive from Sam Curran, this time through mid-on, adds another couple to England's meagre total.

    The comeback starts here.

Tim Murtagh took four wickets for one run from 11 balls.

  4. Eng 52-7published at 15.3 overs

That'll be fifty up for England, thanks to a thick outside edge from Sam Curran that beats the slip cordon and runs away for four more.

It's done a little bit but a new red ball is allowed to.

  6. Eng 48-7published at 15.1 overs

Shot! Sam Curran frees his arms and carves four through the covers.

Good news - England's lowest Test total record is safe!

Jason Roy's debut not looking so bad now. He's our third top scorer. Solid.

    Murtagh 8-3-11-5

Tim Murtagh will have his name on the Lord's honours board tonight.

Brilliant, brilliant stuff. He has a huge yell against Stuart Broad for lbw, who comes wandering out of his crease, but I suspect that was heading down leg.

Robert Stow: This is a solid plan by England who have remembered last summer's heroics and just want to get Sam Curran in as early as possible.

I have no idea what is going on. Just 10 days after the high of the World Cup to this.

Tim Murtagh has bowled beautifully but England just needed to get through the first hour and I think this will have turned out to be a good wicket to bat on.

    Tim Murtagh, take a bow.

Murtagh is on his length and getting the ball to move up the hill. He's got 5-11 at 75mph. Amazing stuff.

    Moeen c Wilson b Murtagh 0 (Eng 43-7)

A seven ball duck for Moeen Ali!

Rinse and repeat for England at the minute. Tim Murtagh draws him forward, there's that away movement once again, and Moeen just loosely pushes at it and gets a thin edge through to Gary Wilson, who doesn't miss a beat.

    AMAZING.

  19. Eng 43-6published at 14.1 overs

A run! An actual, off the bat run!

Sam Curran gets a cheer as he clips Tim Murtagh off his hips for a single. Murtagh, incidentally, has figures of 4-11.

You could see this happening as soon as Tim Murtagh found his length and England went into a cocoon where they couldn't pick up runs and rotate the strike.
