I think the fact Paine hasn't brought the field in is extraordinary.

Ben Stokes defends firmly. Still no fielders brought in.
A bit of an inside edge but safe again.
Ben Stokes defends. No intention of running, he'll protect Rory Burns here.

The Australians have got to surround Ben Stokes and say "we are desperate to get you out tonight".
Tim Paine is missing a trick. Bring men around the bat.
Tim Paine has oddly not brought the field in.
Ben Stokes plays at one down leg and a leading edge slides harmlessly away.

A Smith century when everything was lost. A Burns century when there was everything to lose. Both brilliant, but Rory gets my vote.

Rory Burns slices it away square and there is a diving stop. No run.
Oh, not the last over. The umpires are calling on Nathan Lyon to bowl one more.

Rory Burns leaves a couple outside off.
One ball left in the day?

Siddle is in no hurry. I think the Aussies will be happy to get off and start again tomorrow.
Peter Siddle continues and doesn't look keen to try and get Nathan Lyon another over in from the other end before the close.
Even South African Test Match Special statistician Andrew Samson is having a pop at Tim Paine.
Good news conference that, Tim.

This is the 18th Test venue Tim Paine has played at. I am not sure which two of the others weren't as lively as this. Dubai maybe.

The Alastair Cook song has been refashioned.
"Na na na na na na na na na na na, Rory, Rory Burns, Rory Burns, Rory, Rory Burns."

It is going to be lively here tomorrow. You haven't heard anything yet.
Rory Burns rocks back to crack a cut shot away off Nathan Lyon. Travis Head gives chase, pulls it up inside the boundary and is treated to a pantomime boo from the Hollies Stand for good measure.
Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
Burns has to log down what he has done today and then try and deliver on a consistent basis. Character is the main thing you need to be a success in Test cricket and with what he has shown today, he has clearly got something.
Ben Stokes is changing his shoes. He wears an-all white pair that are branded with the logo of NBA star James Harden. Basketball fan?
Wonderful, glorious.

The frustration with this England team is they have been bowled out from nowhere. Today it has been a team effort. It looks like they have said they are going to fight.
