Lyon was enjoying this at first but I'm not sure he is now.

Rory Burns looks like Alastair Cook if he was a baddie in Hollyoaks. Personally, I think the lad will go far.

It sounds like the full crowd are joining in with this cheer for Nathan Lyon now. Love it.
More loud cheers from the crowd as Nathan Lyon catches the easiest of lobs from cover. He's not smiling anymore.

The duel between Root and Lyon is fascinating. Root is still not looking totally convincing, and there is spin there for Lyon. Root is ill at ease against him but the pressure has been released a little bit with all the runs coming off Starc at the other end.
Burns 57, Root 35
Terrible, Mike. I punish you to a net against Mitchell Starc.

Mike Bell: Why all this fuss about inflatables? Been blown up out of all proportion. Mind you, there's a good reason they cost a lot more these days. Inflation.
Jonny Bairstow is wearing his white England sleeveless jumper over his navy blue tracksuit.
Not sure about that one Jonny.

Cummins' short balls were really troubling Burns because they were skidding through at about chest height, and he couldn't duck very easily. When Starc has gone short, the ball has sailed over his head. It's much easier to avoid those.
That just shows England are going well. They're trying to get a rendition of 'Everywhere We Go' now too.

A group in stand C are trying to get a rendition of that Mitchell Johnson song going with Starc in his place. It just doesn’t scan as well, guys.
Burns 57, Root 34
This is excellent from the crowd. Rory Burns goes for a kamikaze run and is sent back by Root. The opener turns and makes his ground before Nathan Lyon can take the bails off.
Unlike last week at Headingley Lyon does take the ball cleanly and he gets a huge sarcastic cheer. Lyon sees the funny side when the cheers continue after the next ball too.

He's lucky there - Lyon knows it and Root knows it.

That was an ambitious stroke to a ball that was turning back into him.

Root has done it again. For the second time in the last few overs he inside edges past his own stumps. This was perilously close to off stump. It was a hideous dab from the England skipper.

A tremendous noise as England reach 100. Cheers, applause and the stomping of feet.
Burns 57, Root 29
100 up. And England have only lost two wickets!
A rousing round of applause from the crowd. Some are even on their feet in that towering stand.
Mitchell Starc's two overs in this spell have cost 22 runs.

Beware Mitchell Starc. He leaked runs against Derbyshire last week, then took three wickets in an over.
