Andrew Flintoff speaking to Test Match Special about the World Cup final: "I was going to leave at half five because I had to drive to Scarborough where my two lads were playing in a Roses game. I was looking and it was knocking on and I was thinking, we've got to stay, and I'm so glad we did! The atmosphere in the car afterwards, it gave my daughter and my wife such a huge lift."

The larger cover is back on to the left of the pitch as you look at it from the media centre. A fair amount of work for no gain.
Ouch.

To James in London, I've seen your haircut, you shouldn't be paying more than a tenner.

Andrew Flintoff speaking to Test Match Special about Ben Stokes: "I remember I was here years ago watching an ODI with Steve Harmison and Ben Stokes came out to bat. He wasn't having a good time of it but Harmy said to me 'this lad is the best you'll see. He's like you, but better!'
"The thing I like about it the most is all of a sudden people are now stopping to talk about 2005. We've dined out on 2005 long enough! Ben is to be celebrated. He needs a bit of help from everyone else. At the minute he's carrying the batting line up."
Yes! Here we go.
Let's move this debate on a little.
Cricketers you'd least like to cut your hair. Do your best work.

I tell you one thing. You wouldn't want Steve Smith as your barber with all that fidgeting.

I've just walked across the ground and it is very wet - and another little squally shower has just blown in.
Public service announcement!

And just as they do that another shower hits Old Trafford. Stands emptying - a coffee, tea, beer or cider awaits.
Ha! Why are there not more Aussies with shaven heads at those prices?

Same procedure going on over the other side of the pitch now - the bigger cover removed, a smaller one restored in its place and the supper sopper can set to work soaking up the water spilled onto the outfield.
Mitchell Starc on being bettered by Australia wicketkeeper-batter and his wife Alyssa Healy, who scored a century in Australia's ODI against West Indies yesterday: "So she should, she's the batter! We were following it in the team room last night. She's done very well and we're proud of the team. It was a good start to the series for the girls and a good day for the Aussie cricket teams."

If you're paying less than a tenner you're going to a butchers.

Just saw Shane Warne take an entire four pint bottle of milk and bowl upstairs for his breakfast. How much cereal is he planning on eating?
How can we pass the time in this rain delay? We've been discussing the price of haircuts in the office and some of the answers have left me truly astounded. A tenner tops.
Australia bowler Mitchell Starc, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was nice to be out with the boys. Steve Smith, what a player he is. We are very fortunate he's on our side of the fence. He''s been on fire through the series so far.
"It's always frustrating not playing. The great thing about this group of players and fast bowlers in particular is we've sort of grown up together, we're really close off the field.
"As much as you want to play, you're backing your mate to do the job as well. That's the great thing, its all about the squad mentality.
"It's taken a few of us a bit of persuading to get on board with being rested and rotated. Having six guys fit and ready to go, that's the great thing about this group."
