We're now seeing a replay of the Matthew Wade incident. Kumar Dharmasena was clearly telling him to calm down after getting a bit chirpy. I'm not sure Wade took that advice on board.

This was a real shame for Rory Burns. It was there to hit...

Everyone can just settle down a bit over drinks. The umpires were getting a little bit twitchy. I'm not sure what was said by Wade.

This is what they brought Wade in for. They know he is an aggressive character.

Marais Erasmus is now having a stern word with Tim Paine. This bit of niggle has come out of nowhere.

I think the umpires have just given Matthew Wade a telling off for some sledging. Nice, friendly, cuddly Australia and all that.

Root is away with a couple from his first ball. He won't get a better chance to bump his series stats up a bit. He's not in against new ball bowlers today.

Rory Burns would like that average to be above 40 but he's had a very decent series.

Rory Burns finishes with 390 runs at 39 in this series. The most runs by an England opener other than Alastair Cook since Andrew Strauss got 474 in the 2009 Ashes.

Burns slumps off the field. It's the last time he'll bat in the series. A job well done.

    Burns c Paine b Lyon 20 (Eng 54-1)

What a horrible way to get out.

Nathan Lyon bowls a horrible ball, short and wide outside off stump. Rory Burns quite rightly tries to whack it away but he gets an under-edge through to Tim Paine.

    England lose their first wicket.

That is England's first 50 opening partnership since the second innings of the first Test against West Indies in Bridgetown. That is 15 innings without a 50 opening stand - the longest run in England's history.

A fifty opening partnership! I had wondered if we'd ever see one again. Burns drives nicely for four. England look comfortable.

Joe Denly is batting like a man who has freed the shackles from himself, as if he might never get another chance. Or maybe it's because he's got something to celebrate following the birth of his second child this week. Either way, so far, this has been the least tense period of England batting of the entire series.
