Ryan Kelly: England need these quick runs. Could take two days to get Steve Smith out.
Australia take the new ball straight away and Sam Curran paddles the first ball with it around the corner for one.

Australia have to get five quick wickets. It's a good batting pitch but there is something in it for the bowlers.
Anything is possible when you have Steve Smith in your team.

The pitch still looks pretty good which makes you think England still need a few more and then you look at history, and the lack of run-chases this big in Tests, and every now and again one turns big for Lyon and both of those things make you think England should be very confident.
The new ball is now available and Pat Cummins is back.

Big game on. I saw Graham Thorpe heading towards this. Must have fancied a bat.

Jos Buttler won't want this series to end. He's timing it brilliantly now! A lovely flick through mid-wicket is excellently dragged back a couple of inches inside the rope by Pat Cummins.
The new ball will be available in an over's time. Mitchell Marsh might be done for a while. He's moving very gingerly.

And again. When Sam Curran goes he goes hard. The 21-year-old slashes this over the top of gully.

He hurled his bat at that.
More work for a weary-looking Nathan Lyon. England have almost been teasing him in the last five minutes. The ball is following him everywhere as he fields in front of a rowdy part of the crowd.
No stopping this one off the bat of Curran. A full and wide delivery from Mitchell Marsh is punished.

Lyon has his hands on his head again after Buttler edges the ball just out of the reach of short leg. It would have been some catch from Bancroft.
A guy in the crowd is making a complete meal out of eating an ice cream. Bits everywhere.
Andrew Samson
BBC Test Match Special statistician
Australia have successfully reviewed six out of 32, whereas England have 17 out of 40.
I've not been counting how many times Tim Paine could have overturned a decision but didn't review it - I guess that's my homework tonight.
Buttler 22, Curran 3
Nathan Lyon is sarcastically cheered when he collects the ball out on the boundary. I don't think 'Gazza' is going to miss that when he gets home.

I would try to not put Australia in until lunch tomorrow - rest the bowlers and still have plenty of time to bowl them out.
Jos Buttler scrapes at the crease with his eyes down after a defensive shot. He looks more cautious now after a fast start.

That did spin sharply out of the rough.
Buttler 21, Curran 3
Sam Curran is completely beaten by one that turns big out of the rough. There wasn't a lot he could have done in fairness. Jack Leach will be cleaning his specs with glee.
The end of Jonny Bairstow...
