England bowler Jofra Archer speaking to TMS: "From the moment I have put an England shirt on it has been exciting cricket since. I forgot I took six wickets in the first innings. I am glad we were able to draw the series. Jeez... bowling at Steve Smith was a task. I am glad to see the back of him.
"There will be teams that won't have so many fast bowlers so I look forward to that."

Tom Blakey: I'm sad my cricket summer has come to an end.
Hannah: Can we do that summer again please?
Ben Stokes is named England's man of the series.
England bowler Jofra Archer: "It's been exciting cricket ever since I came in. I was leaning towards the Leeds game as my favourite moment, but then the World Cup too - it's just a different feeling, both very special
"Not sure I've taken to it that quickly, I went wicketless in two innings as well. Test cricket can be your day one day but the next it might not be.
"Personally I will try to bowl quick even if it doesn't happen. It's not going to happen every day but the team will back me regardless.
"The management have been very good - they've not been shy in giving me an extra off day or reduce my training load.
"No problem with Wade. I was a bit grumpy, the wicket was a bit flat. He didn't miss much either. It was just cricket."
Jofra Archer is named man of the match. No wickets in the second innings but a stunning six-for in the first.
Joe Root, speaking to TMS: "A very good performance. I thought we were brilliant. To bounce back from a very difficult emotional week, to come and play in the manner we have, the team has character in abundance. This was more of a template of how to play moving forward. It is a step in the right direction. I am very proud of everyone's effort throughout the summer."

The urn remains in Australia. There have been some incredibly gripping moments.
You can't help but reflect on Headingley, Australia's bowling and Steve Smith.
Some catch that.

Rob Molloy: Great end to a brilliant summer of international cricket. Would have been nice to do the double of World Cup and Ashes but not to be. Roll on the winter tours!
Ben Stokes' astonishing performance at Headingley, plus his sublime century at Lord's and numerous other contributions means he will be the England player most readily associated with this Ashes.
But a word for Stuart Broad too. There was talk he might even consider retiring after this series at the start of the summer.
Instead, he's taken 23 wickets, his most ever in an Ashes, and led the England attack brilliantly in the absence of James Anderson.
Legs pumping, tail up and removing David Warner seven out of 10 times to boot. A joy to watch.
Oh and he's hilarious - that wave to Marnus Labuschagne, batting in a jumper on the hottest day in Leeds history etc etc.

Stuart Broad has stepped up and produced another wonderful performance in an Ashes series. This week, as much as it is about the team, it is about Joe Root. He needed this week to give himself a boost.
He is doing a lot right. I am really pleased for him. I know how much he wants to be England captain.

Joe Root and Jos Buttler look shattered on the balcony.
They deserve a lie-in that lasts until Tuesday.

Australia deserved to retain the Ashes.
England have got to celebrate the fact that a few days ago Australia retained the Ashes and we all expected Australia to blow them away this week.
With the ball in particular they have been exceptional.

Ex-England women's bowler on BBC Test Match Special
There have been two stand-out men, Steve Smith and Ben Stokes. There have been so many different performances to supplement them. We have seen those moments of incredibly rapid fast bowling and those have been incredible. It has been enthralling cricket.

Best Ashes since 2005.
Joe in Greece
Congratulations also to Simon Mann, who correctly predicted this series would end 2-2 at the start of the summer.
Get Glenn McGrath to buy him a drink.

Australia retained the Ashes. That is the bottom line from this series but England played their part.
