Dhawan and Rohit have batted so many times together and that is where they are so good - their communication. They just nod at each other and away they go. They nick quite a few singles.
Three inside the circle at cover point for Shikhar Dhawan. India are still able to run a single to that area though as they capitalise on a fumble by Adam Zampa.
These two are very quick between the wickets.
The India physio returns to the middle to put a bit of tape on Shikhar Dhawan's thumb and give him some painkillers.

Shikhar Dhawan is struggling here a little bit. He took his hand straight off the bat.
Shikhar Dhawan is still struggling, he immediately takes his left hand off the bat after pushing a defensive shot into the onside. He is now signalling to the Indian balcony.
A concern for India.
That's a snorter from Pat Cummins as he gets one to leap off a length and catch Shikhar Dhawan on the shoulder.
Later in the over the physio comes out to take a look and it seems Dhawan was also caught on his left thumb. A bit of magic spray does the trick though.

Starc and Cummins have been outstanding. Coulter-Nile was very good with the bat against West Indies but are Australia missing that quality third seamer?
That's too short and too wide from Nathan Coulter-Nile and it gets the treatment as Shikhar Dhawan cuts it away for four.
The next delivery is exactly the same and again Dhawan cuts it - finer this time - four another boundary! He then runs a single to complete the over.
India cutting loose.

The ICC ticketing system has not helped. Every time we tried to get tickets they kept pushing us to the more expensive.
Ben, Kent
First change for Australia as Nathan Coulter-Nile comes into the attack and will this signal a change in approach from India? Shikhar Dhawan has been conservative so far but he dances down the track to Coulter-Nile's second delivery and smacks it down the ground for four.

The Oval is always good for cricket celeb-spotting. I went barrelling into Clive Lloyd this morning on my way to the media centre. No-one's beaten the reaction to this guy yet, though...

Replays show the ball brushed past Shikhar Dhawan's bicep. Good decision not to review by Aaron Finch.

Alex Carey liked it. He was suggesting there was a flick of the glove but Aaron Finch was not interested.
Pat Cummins bangs in a short one to Shikhar Dhawan who attempts to pull and the ball flies into the gloves of Alex Carey.
There's stifled appeals from Cummins who thinks it may have brushed Dhawan's glove. Aaron Finch isn't interested in the appeal though.
So close to a beauty of a catch by Nathan Coulter-Nile.
Rohit Sharma plays a nice shot off his pads but Adam Zampa scampers round from deep fine leg to prevent the boundary.
There is a real carnival atmosphere at The Oval with a sea of Indian blue punctured occasionally by Australia yellow. Huge cheers go up with every attacking stroke.

Australia look up for it. It has been a good opening spell. You have to keep it nice and straight and don't let the Indian openers free their hands otherwise you'll get flayed through the off side.

I'm loving this World Cup, but finding it hard to concentrate on the cricket at times due to the incredible number of empty seats. It's driving me bonkers! If this tournament was being held abroad we'd be up in arms about it. What has gone wrong and can we fix it? Preferably soon!
Con, Wakefield
That will make Shikhar Dhawan feel better. Pat Cummins gives him just a bit too much width and Dhawan drives the ball through the covers for four.
