This is where you have to think a bit. Gameplan and Pakistan are not words used together. That is why they are so fun to watch.

  2. Hassan out for 32published at 17:20 British Summer Time 12 June 2019

And here is how Hassan eventually got out, falling for the short-ball bait...

  3. Pak 217-7published at 38 overs

Need 91 runs from 72 balls

Pakistan have just one more over of Pat Cummins to survive, taking three singles off his ninth over.

  5. Hassan hits two sixespublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 12 June 2019

    Again, very fun.

Again, not very smart to go after every ball, given how he eventually got out.

Of the 95 runs required, you'd feel Sarfaraz would have to get 50 or 60 of them.

  7. Pak 214-7published at 37 overs

    Sarfaraz 27, Wahab 8

Wahab Riaz nearly takes Usman Khawaja's hand off with a fearsome drive through the covers. A good stop in the end.

Sarfaraz Ahmed tickles the last round the corner for another single.

  8. Pak 212-7published at 36.4 overs

Need 96 runs from 80 balls

Wahab Riaz throws his hands at one angled across by Mitchell Starc and edges it just past the diving Steve Smith in the slips for four.

  9. Asif's horror day continuespublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 12 June 2019

Though Asif Ali might have Shoaib Malik beat for worst performance today.

Having dropped two easy chances in the field, he then fell for five...

Shoaib Malik today - 0-26 off four overs, a two-ball duck and several mis-fields. He's also 37 years old and not very agile anymore.

Ramiz might well have a point.

I wonder whether Shoaib Malik is worth his place in this Pakistan XI.

The Pakistan support has been tremendous but they have gone flat. I think they realise.

  13. Pak 207-7published at 36 overs

Need 101 runs from 84 balls

Wahab Riaz repels Pat Cummins. Just two from the over.

  14. Hassan hits Maxwell over long-on for sixpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 12 June 2019

Six or out is not what Pakistan needed. It was fun to watch though...

Terrible discipline from Hassan and other Pakistan batters. Costing us the game.

Pakistan will always bottle high pressure situations. They don't have that elite mindset to win at the highest level.

How can a team be so good and so bad in the same match?

Can Sarfaraz Ahmed play one of the greatest ever ODI innings from here?

Can Wahab Riaz somehow stick around?

Pakistan are well on track in terms of runs required. You would take 103 in 15 overs but they have lost seven wickets. Some of the wickets have come from good thinking and good tactics. Aaron Finch is having another good day. He is an astute captain.

If you analyse the whole Pakistan performance, at times in the field they were atrocious and at times they were magnificent. At times with the bat they have looked like they controlling the game and then they play some silly strokes.

Hassan has to think like a batsman. After getting a start he has to stay with Sarafraz for a while. The environment breeds champions and I do not know what kind of environment is out there in the Pakistan dug out. These tailenders have to contribute in a situation like this and a batting line-up like this.
