All class from Joe Root with a straight drive down the ground and Oshane Thomas, a man who goes down in installments when he tries to field a ball, almost throws it over the rope as he tries to drag it back onto the field.

Just three runs, though, and Shannon Gariel follows it up with a rare delivery that nips back on Chris Woakes.

A series of singles ends this latest Chris Gayle over, and England need just 27 runs to win.

Who knew there was so much worm love out there? We all agree, it would be ace.

Here you go Dave though, I've got the pencils out to knock up another one for you. England (in blue) are well ahead of the game.

After 28 overs West Indies were 141-3 with a collapse to come, England were 178-1.

Joe Root has seen more than enough of Chris Gayle, and he drives his first ball for four through the covers.

Oh, Gayle's now switched to bowling medium-pacers...

    Shot! Chris Woakes!

Carlos Brathwaite sends down another short ball, and it's oh so easy for Woakes to stand tall and clobber it away for four.

Steve Bland: England have lost their most destructive player, thrown a bowler in at number three for funsies, and they’d still be cruising to about 350. What a team and what a transformation.

He's actually bowled alright, Chris Gayle. The batsmen don't know what to do with him.

Need 42 runs from 138 balls

These Chris Gayle deliveries are being clocked at about 50mph. Which feels about 30mph too fast.

A moon ball is dispatched by Chris Woakes but it's cut off on the boundary by Fabian Allen, and another over ticks merrily by.

Would be big improvement if the worm [see 16:20] was pinned to the page somewhere, like that big empty space under the summary maybe?

    Dave, Horsham

I admire your ambition Dave but we have to draw that by hand every time.

  11. Eng 166-1published at 26 overs

A nice-looking pull from Chris Woakes is greeted with a half-cheer from the crowd, before Fabian Allen gets a near-standing ovation for a sliding stop down on the boundary.

He turns to the crowd and pumps his arms in the air, encouraging them to make some more noise.

    Sir Curtly Ambrose
Former West Indies bowler on BBC Test Match Special

The West Indies team look like a defeated bunch, there is no urgency, they are just waiting for this game to be over. That's not how you play - push to the end, every ball. Stranger things have happened.

They have just about given up I'm afraid.

  13. Eng 160-1published at 25 overs

Need 53 more runs to win

Chris Woakes swings everything but the kitchen sink at a leg side drifter from Chris Gayle, but he misses, and it's called wide.

A smattering of singles ends the over. This match is drifting, rather than running, towards its inevitable conclusion.

Yep, it's hit Chris Woakes outside the line, and it's missing the stumps.

    As you were!

If he brings a scarf out next then I'm afraid we'll have to end this match.

Joe Root swivel-pulls nicely for a couple off Carlos Brathwaite, before another leg side wide is added to the total. It's been scrappy today from West Indies.

Can we please see more Worms on the live reporting. I'm a bit new to this cricket stuff and although I can see that we're going to give the W. Indies a hammering, it would be nice to see how the teams head to head is going through the match.

    Thanks, Rich in Ipswich.
