One batsman will have to up the ante a little bit and the other will have to hold firm and let the others bat around him.

You can't use your feet against Kuldeep because he is quick through the air, it's got to be a safe passage for the next 10 overs for Pakistan.

  3. Pak 86-1published at 19 overs

    Target 337

Bit of flight from Yuzvendra Chahal, almost sucks in the batsman too but Fakhar is safe enough. Hubbub in the stands rather than out and out excitement. Needs a spark.

Kohli considers a review for an lbw but MS Dhoni talks him out of it. Bat/pad squeezer.

This game (India v Pakistan) tests your temperament like no other game and it forces you to play above yourself to become a hero. You get a great response from some players.

  6. Pak 84-1published at 18 overs

Someone needs to step up and be a hero. that's for sure, if Pakistan are to pull this off. Singles all round, laying a foundation for the big moon shot in the last 15 overs? Don't forget there could well be rain to come.

Pakistan batsmen have got starts before and thrown them away. A good looking 40 is not going to win you the game so it needs to be a 140 from Babar. It's not going to be easy because India have bowlers who can provide wickets.

Game poised. Crowd volume gone down slightly while everyone concentrates on this key phase! Indian fans willing Babar to fall. Class act

Yuzvendra Chahal comes on for India and is grateful for Dinesh Karthik for a fine sprawling block in the field to save runs.

Pakistan accumulating rather than speculating at the moment.

DLS wise after 16 overs they would need to be on 90 so only 15 down.

Definite acceleration from Pakistan as Fakhar cuts away the second boundary of the over - there's 11 from it in total.

That's more like it, playing with a bit of aggression, not just a straight bat. Agricultural maybe but it has seemed like a pedestrian start. What did we used to watch 25 years ago?

  14. Pak 70-1published at 15.3 overs

    Target 337

Yes! That's what the game needs, more shots like that! Fakhar Zaman picks up a shorter ball and absolutely clumps it over midwicket for four!

    That's got the crowd going.

There were plenty of people tweeting us during the India innings (blue) complaining that they were scoring too slowly, but Pakistan (red) are really taking their time.

  16. 'Rohit took the initiative'published at 16:42 British Summer Time 16 June 2019

Dinesh Lad, the personal coach of Rohit Sharma, has been talking to BBC Marathi: "Rohit was under tremendous pressure today. The India-Pakistan match is so intense - it’s almost like a war. In a warlike situation someone has to take initiative which Rohit did and got his success.

"We needed to play the initial overs carefully which Rohit did so well. He stood firmly on the wicket and got good support from Rahul. That’s why India could put up a good score. Rohit had added responsibility today.

"On other days, Dhawan plays aggressively and Rohit plays the anchor innings. Today, Rahul did not let us miss Dhawan, and played very well. That removed any pressure on Rohit. So Rohit was relaxed and played his shots well."

  19. Pak 64-1published at 15 overs

We need to get through 20 overs in this innings to constitute a result, the sun is out at the moment but Aggers is adamant we are getting more rain.

  20. Pak 58-1published at 14 overs

    Target 337

I'll be honest, this run chase looks a stretch.

Pakistan need 279 runs to win from 36 overs with 9 wickets remaining (Required run rate: 7.8)
