Double spin for England. Here comes Adil Rashid.

Angelo Mathews, for such a good striker of the cricket ball, is doing the hard yards but there will come a time when he needs to take a risk.

There's a little bit of turn there for Moeen.
Moeen Ali arcs down three dot balls before he drops a touch short and Angelo Mathews cuts through backward point. There should be three there but Mathews settles for two.
A flatter one to finish that Mathews clips through mid-wicket for a single to keep the strike.
Angelo Mathews is disturbed by something in his eyeline and pulls out but it's too late for Moeen Ali, who sends down the ball and it deflects off Mathews' bat handle.
Dead ball. On we go.

Re G's text, I can confirm I am not the chap in the checked shirt. He looks far happier than I am with this England performance....

A low full toss outside off from Ben Stokes and Kusal Mendis doesn't miss out, stroking it through the covers for four.
Mathews 4 off 21 balls
A sedate start for Moeen, four singles from the over.
Bad luck, if you're Russel Arnold.
Bad shot, for most others.

It's a good pitch which will only get better, once the sunshine gets on to it. There might be more turn as the game goes on but this looks nice to bat on. The ball is carrying through nicely to the keeper.
That is the only single off Ben Stokes' over though.
England are piling the pressure on here with some economical bowling.
Moeen Ali, making his 100th ODI appearance, is coming into the attack.
Kusal Mendis rocks back and defends Ben Stokes before taking off for a quick single. Stokes hares after it, turns and throws...oooh! The ball bounces just over the stumps!
Stokes has a pained expression on the deck. That would've been out if it had hit.

Re the pic of Sri Lanka fans, the guy in the checked shirt may be the famous Richard...

Mark Wood sends down a fine yorker that Kusal Mendis digs out. Tidy from Wood, just two from the over.

The party stand at Headingley is the one which captures the players' attention more than any other in this country. They love it.
K Mendis 18, Mathews 1
Excellent shot from Kusal Mendis, driving out through the covers for four.
The next is a bit of a mix up but the throw misses the stumps.
Angelo Mathews then does finally get off the mark, flicking away for a single.
His reward? A drinks break.
Sri Lanka not executing well....I mean c'mon...2 out of 3 caught at third man...unbelievable.

These lads are high energy, but the chap in the checked shirt doesn't seem too thrilled by their presence.
