I disagree. I think England have probably just got in their own heads a little. Jimmy Anderson made the point yesterday that in an ODI series, you're playing the same team for a period of time, so you get used to them and you can adjust your plans. This World Cup, each game almost takes on a knockout quality. England, ultimately, haven't adapted quickly enough, compared to teams like Australia and India.

In relation to the England situation, I think that Morgan has lost the dressing room somehow. They were gunning and now they're barely throwing.

Was that the build-up of pressure?

Sri Lanka scored 67 runs in the first 10 overs and 24 runs in the second block of 10...

You could feel it building. Mathews kept his shape with that first shot down the ground. This time he went with an angled bat.

    Chopped on!

Another Sri Lanka wicket goes to another poor shot. It's speared wide by Chris Morris and Angelo Mathews chases it with a half-cut, half-drive. He ends up bottom edging it into his stumps. Horrible way to go.

Short from Chris Morris, and it's launched over mid-off for four by Angelo Mathews!

Brilliant shot, clearing his front foot and just swinging his arms with aplomb.

If as a player, you hear the words "England's worst World Cup" when your still in the semi final places and things are far from over, you're going to want to react. I don't think anyone's being pathetic, everyone is simply frustrated that it has come down to the last 2 matches. What matters now is how England channel that frustration.

And Imran Tahir's third delivery is a beauty! There's turn there, and Kusal Mendis drags his bat out of the way to avoid a feather edge through to Quinton de Kock.

    Hello!

Overcompensating from Imran Tahir, dropping too short, and Kusal Mendis almost does the splits as he swats it into the deep for four.

    Whoops.

That's, er, not what Imran Tahir was trying to do. A juicy full toss comes Angelo Mathews' way and he manages to hoick it on the bounce to the man on the mid-wicket fence.

Chris Morris rattles through another over, and Sri Lanka ease the ball through the field where they can.

Imran Tahir is coming on at the other end...

Kagiso Rabada is getting some extra bounce off this pitch. His third ball rears up and rattles the top of the bat and Kusal Mendis just about avoids getting his fingers thwacked.

Tidy again from South Africa. The squeeze is on.

I have sympathy for Bairstow and Vaughan, but for me the elephant in the room is the decision to exclude Alex Hales. Expecting Eng to score big without Roy or Hales opening is putting a lot of weight on Jonny Bairstow's shoulders.

Edged - but just short of the slip!

Angelo Mathews gets his hands and his wrists into a tangle as he pushes forward and the ball trickles off an outside edge towards Hashim Amla. Amla's the sole slip and he tumbles forward, hands grasping, but the ball bounces before it gets to him.

    Chris Morris will continue.

The good start Sri Lanka had does give this pair some time. They do need to rebuild. Let's remember they are a side who are trying to get in to the semi-final.
