  1. Aus 126-5published at 28 overs

De Grandhomme's bowling isn't too dissimilar to Paul Collingwood. He'll look to turn his arm over for a few quiet overs in this middle period and keep the scoring low.

Pakistan have lost a second wicket in the day's other game. That is important for England but New Zealand too. If the Black Caps don't win today they will still be at risk of missing out on the semis.

Colin de Grandhomme is back for some more trundle. Tom Latham is standing up to the stumps.

An Aussie with confidence? Who'da thought it?!

Blimey, Alex Carey is in good touch. Full and quick from Ferguson but the wicketkeeper batsman just drives through extra cover for four.

Very important partnership, this one. The last recognised batsmen. You just get the feeling they need to get Australia to the 40-over mark before they lose another wicket otherwise they may be bowled out before the 50 overs.

  7. Postpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 29 June 2019

New Zealand want to break this partnership and get into the lower order. The pacey Lockie Ferguson is coming back into the attack.

Not quite as good as Guptill's in my eyes but this was still special from Jimmy Neesham...

  9. Aus 118-5published at 26 overs

    Khawaja 41, Carey 17

Carey has timed this one alright! He creams Jimmy Neesham through extra cover for a delightful four. Carey has been Australia's best batsman outside the top two in this tournament. He has plenty of time to build a big score today in the sunshine.

  10. Aus 113-5published at 25.2 overs

This pitch has not been the easiest to bat on. Here is some more evidence with Alex Carey leaning forward and the ball looping off his bat through the covers.

The Lord's crowd gasps in its trademark style as the ball carries over the infield.

    Before my time, Tim. Sorry.

Back to the game. How good was that catch from Guptill earlier? I'm going big and saying it was the catch of the tournament so far.

    Agree?

  12. Aus 112-5published at 25 overs

Santner's third over concedes three runs - his best effort so far.

And now I will hand over to Matt Henry, who tells me that the earlier Phil Collins reference (see 14:00 entry) completely missed him.

Youth is wasted on the young.

Maybe Glenn Maxwell thought he might get a hit at the London Stadium later when the Yankees meet the Red Sox in the Major League Baseball that's in town this weekend as he attempted that pull shot off Jimmy Neesham.

That's two unfortunate moments for Australia batsman now as Smith and Maxwell have fallen to stunning catches.

After Martin Guptill's two drops in the first five overs, few would've predicted this comeback in the field.

I think even if Australia score 235 they might feel they are in the game if they take a couple of early wickets.

  15. Aus 108-5published at 24 overs

Just three of the over from Neesham.

Realistically, what what sort of target will Australia set?

That was a very loose shot from Khawaja.

That would have been a good catch. Latham knew there wasn't a slip and he would have to go.

  18. dropped catch

Khawaja dropped on 35published at 15:20 British Summer Time 29 June 2019

The left-hander wafts at Neesham outside off stump, and Latham flies high to his left - but he can't keep hold of it and Khawaja breathes again.

  19. Aus 105-5published at 23 overs

Khawaja prods forward and is hit on the back leg. Santner appeals but ti's not given and after a long-seeming 15 seconds New Zealand do not review.

Carey then gets on strikes and essays a nice reverse sweep for four. Santner's two overs have gone for 19.

  20. Aus 96-5published at 22 overs

Alex Carey is in and almost straight away he is off the mark with a lovely cover drive.
