Carey 69, Khawaja 64
There are some read faces in the stand away at square leg which is directly in the sun. It's a day for a Baggy Green or a Black Cap.
Carey's strokes are starting to get slightly more agricultural as he looks for quick runs at the end of the innings. Khawaja plods along with a couple more singles.
Here are the highlights of Alex Carey's fifty as he brings up the hundred partnership...
Tom Latham is having a scrappy afternoon behind the stumps. He fumbles the ball like a bar of soap after Usman Khawaja misses a cut. I don't think there was an edge there, unlike the ones earlier.

Barry Newman: Regretting turning down the offer of tickets
Hannah Dixie: Alex Carey has typified positive, aggressive but smart cricket throughout the tournament. England could learn a thing or two from him!
Khawaja 62, Carey 65
Australia were 92-5 when Carey came to the crease. These two need four more runs to turn this into a hundred partnership.
10 overs to go. 260 on?

I can't imagine he has played here much, but Carey has got used to the slope at Lord's very nicely.
A sprawling dive from Kane Williamson can't stop Alex Carey hitting another boundary.
Is it too early to start thinking about three figures? He batting brilliantly.
It's the halfway point of the Pakistan chase at Headingley and they're making decent progress as they chase 228 to beat Afghanistan.
Pakistan are 103-3 with Mohammad Hafeez and Haris Sohail at the crease.
A win will take them above England into fourth in the table.
That's the second time Williamson has found the edge of the bat today. You to wonder why he isn't trusting himself enough to put a slip in. It would have gone straight to slip if there had have been someone there.
Trent Boult is returning for his seventh over at the other end.

Carey has definitely looked the best batsman here today.
A very, very (very, very) tough chance for Tom Latham. The dangerous Alex Carey gets a thick edge on a full delivery from Kane Williamson. Latham gets his fingertips on the ball behind the stumps but can't hold onto the catch.
It's tough to call that a drop.
It's the hottest day of the year, but they're still offering sponge pud and custard!

Khawaja 59, Carey 59
Which of the two would England fear most in the Ashes? I reckon they'd rather see Paine walking out at Edgbaston.
Ferguson may be quick but Carey is completely untroubled. He pulls the seamer in front of square for his 10th four to move to his highest ODI score.
Six from the over.

Australia not blessed with a great choice of wicket keepers .... suggest Carey AND Paine will make the Ashes squad?

Kane Williamson can certainly get through an over. Before I had looked up he'd bowled four deliveries.
It's a good job Carey is going well because Usman Khawaja is going nowhere. He has 59 from 96 balls.
Andy Zaltzman points out that Carey has hit as many boundaries as the rest of the Aussie batsmen combined. He has been good.
This was one of his best...

It's been a battling knock, it's a wicket where it is hard to find the pace of it but he has still played his strokes.
