  3. Pak 148-1published at 29 overs

Mehedi Hasan is back after a tidy 0-12 from his first five overs. He keeps things similarly tight, only conceding four runs.

  4. Pak 144-1published at 28 overs

The win predictor now has Pakistan at 317. If they made that and bowled Bangladesh for one then Pakistan would go through at New Zealand's expense.

  5. Pak 143-1published at 27.4 overs

That is one of the things that is difficult for many of us to comprehend - the cliche 'pressure on Pakistan'. Defeat in this game would not go down well.

Babar Azam does look to have upped his intent, however. He pulls hard for another boundary off The Fizz.

If Pakistan finish with nine points they have to go back home and explain themselves to the board but 11 and missing out on net run-rate is not such a bad campaign.

  7. Pak 137-1published at 27 overs

    Babar 66, Imam 52

14 from the over. A bit more of that and this would be possible for Pakistan, if very, very unlikely.

  8. dropped catch

    Pak 136-1published at 26.5 overs

I'm not going to call this a drop but things are going with Pakistan at the moment. One turns big to Imam and he gets a healthy edge through to Mushfiqur but the keeper doesn't have much chance of catching it.

A couple of balls later another edge hits poor Mushy on the inside of the knee behind the stumps. It's never a nice place to be hit. He looks in some pain.

  9. Pak 132-1published at 26.3 overs

Well, well! Pakistan are getting on a roll. This is a shocking bit of fielding on the boundary rope as Mohammad Saifuddin is nutmegged, allowing the ball to go for four.

Can Pakistan keep the pressure on their opponents?

  10. Pak 127-1published at 26.1 overs

Was the plan to get to 25 overs and then go? Babar Azam now hits one to the rope. It was a full toss from Mosaddek. He's not had a good five minutes.

  11. Pak 123-1published at 26 overs

A boundary! Just the second since the 12th over. Imam-ul-Haq gets on the back foot and pulls Mustafizur Rahman through mid-wicket.

The Pakistan fans haven't been particularly vocal so far but you can hear them now.

  12. dropped catch

Babar dropped on 57published at 25.3 overs

Babar goes for a slightly more aggressive shot, hitting the ball in the air through backward point, but the catch is shelled by Mosaddek Hossain.

    That was relatively straightforward.

Thanks Jamie. What are Pakistan playing at? Get a wriggle on!

  14. Pkn 115-1published at 25 overs

    Run-rate 4.6

Now is the current trend to double the score after 30 overs? They need to quadruple it at this rate. It's only singles again. I have mentioned the word singles more times than a dating website so it's time to hand over to Matthew Henry.

Emyr Evans: If you use players at this World Cup, reckon this team could get the win Pakistan need: Rohit, Roy, Kohli, Buttler, Stokes, Moeen (at his best), Rashid Khan (at his best), Archer, Starc and Bumrah.

    Very decent...

  16. Pkn 111-1published at 24 overs

Shakib still to concede a boundary and it's only singles again.

That team would get some big crowds, Mike...

    Babar is a glorious player.

  19. Pkn 108-1published at 23 overs

    Run-rate 4.69

After four dot balls a boundary was certainly needed and Babar provided it in style with a stylishly played back foot drive off Mosaddek to record his half century from 62 balls.

Not a single boundary was struck between 50 and 100 for Pakistan.

Think that tells you all you need to know about their ever-dwindling hopes of making the semi-finals.
