    Table

Pakistan finish fifth. Bangladesh will come seventh, barring a South Africa win on Saturday against Australia. That feels a little harsh on the Tigers. They have impressed.

Tomorrow is the final day of the group stage with India also playing Sri Lanka.

The top four is confirmed now. It is just about who meets who in the semi-finals.

Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed: "Unfortunately we played very good cricket in the last four matches but we have not qualified.

"Only the one match will cost us in the whole tournament [against West Indies]. We played very good cricket. The way we responded after India, we played very well in all three - batting, fielding and bowling.

"We need to sit down together. We have almost two months off. We have to do lots of work with our team.

"The way Shaheen is bowling is very good. Today it was one of the best bowling performances I have seen in a long time."

They will be frustrated, they will look back at that match against West Indies. But Pakistan did everything right in this game. If you'd told them they'd win five they'd have expected to go through.

Fantastic to see that from Shaheen, the single best bowling from a Pakistan bowler in the World Cup, immense control, getting that swing at an angle, it's one of the most difficult balls to face. I go back to Shoaib Akhtar, slings it in at an angle. It's the pace, the length and the angle with that late swing.
