Officially doing nothing today. I'm at work dressed in a suit, tie, braces and brogues but in my head I'm in my underpants in the paddling pool with a beer watching this game.

    Smith 63, Maxwell 21

You're getting nervous again, aren't you?

That's a poor ball and not even Jonny Bairstow can stop that.

  4. Aus 150-5published at 33.4 overs

This one is four. Bairstow has no chance of cutting that off. Glenn Maxwell is going to go about this in his typical, attacking manner.

Phil: Does everyone else arrange to have lunch in line with the players when they’re watching cricket on TV?

  7. Aus 146-5published at 33.1 overs

Jonny Bairstow is a brilliant fielder, isn't he? Maxwell has a heave at Rashid again but Jonny B prevents the boundary on the rope.

  8. Aus 144-5published at 33 overs

    Smith 62, Maxwell 14

A quiet over. Just a couple of singles. It's still incredibly tense.

  9. Aus 142-5published at 32.4 overs

Back under way and Archer bowls four dots to Smith, having the former Aussie skipper groping at one and missing.

Have decided to forgo putting together any more flatpack furniture while listening to this match. Maybe the missed bag of nuts and bolts I found at end weren't important?

While the players have a drink, let's look back on the wickets to fall.

They've just shown a replay of that Mitchell Starc yorker to Ben Stokes from the group match between these two.

That gave me a shuddering reminder of why England need to restrict Australia.

Sam Roberts: Stoinis going cheap could be a godsend for Australia. He’s struggled to get going in this World Cup which could have left Smith frustrated. Maxwell will rotate the strike better - as long as he stays there, obviously.

I'm told the buzzing is a plane flying a banner with a political message.

There's a buzzing noise overhead - I can hear it but not see it. Is it David Gower in his Tiger Moth?

  16. drinks break

    Aus 142-5published at 32 overs

    Run-rate 4.43

You can sense the nervous tension at the ground with Maxwell and Smith still in. If England break this partnership then they're into the Aussie bowlers.

Wrong line from Rashid. Anything on Maxwell's pads he's going to have a whack at it.

  18. 6 runs

    Aus 142-5published at 31.3 overs

That's what Glenn Maxwell can do. He has a proper whack at Adil Rashid it goes way back into the stand. England have to hold their nerve. In this World Cup Maxwell has hit a few big shots and then got out.
