Excellent response by Ferguson, a slower ball bouncer that foxes Plunkett. No run.

Liam Plunkett has got them cheering again!

  8. Eng 208-6published at 46.5 overs

Need 34 runs from 19 balls

Liam Plunkett used to be a batsman. He is no mug.

And he has now whacked a ball off his pads for four through mid-wicket in a World Cup final.

Need 38 runs from 21 balls

Ben Stokes has to take a single down the ground and Liam Plunkett is beaten by a back-of-the-hand slower ball from Lockie Ferguson. Tremendous skill.

Liam Plunkett took three wickets in a sublime bowling display earlier.

What a story if he can help England to victory with the bat now.

It's very hard when you've been sat on the balcony to come in and play in an occasion like this.

I just don't know why he did that with Ben Stokes at the other end. Chris Woakes has tried to put the bowler into the tavern.

    Shocking from Chris Woakes.

All he needs to do is tap a single to put Ben Stokes on strike but instead he tries to launch a pull shot into the stands.

The bat turns in his hands and it skews straight up off a top edge. Tom Latham snaffles it.

The only saving grace is that it went high enough for the batsmen to cross.

Ben Stokes you are kidding me.

It was on the pads but the power in his wrists to flick the ball through mid-wicket for four -outstanding.

Ben Stokes has got to do the business here. He can't leave it to the tail, he has to see it home for England.

Wide from Neesham but Stokes can only hit a single out to deep point. He's found the fielders so often today.
