    Target 242

Ben Stokes misses on the cut but then pushes to long on for a single.

Jos Buttler taps off his pads for one more.

Stokes nudges another, as does Buttler.

England nurdle four from a tidy first over from Mitchell Santner.

First spin for New Zealand. Here comes Mitchell Santner.

He bowled beautifully against India in the semi-final.

    Thanks Tom.

It's actually a bit of a relief to be taking the live text back, gives me something to do. Because just watching this has been TORTURE.

England need 127 runs from 120 balls.

Joseph Charles Buttler. Benjamin Andrew Stokes. Go well.

Right, Jack Skelton, no pressure but you've got 20 overs in the chair as the hopes of a nation look like slipping away...

Press boxes are generally quiet places, but this one... it's rammed at Lord's, unsurprisingly, but almost everyone is glued to their seat. Behind the chairs, people are pacing around, while up in the TMS and 5 Live boxes, everyone is stood up, which is a sure sign of nerves.

Chris Leamon: Ball by ball I'm yoyo-ing between England winning and losing this. Stokes hits a four - definite England win. Dot ball - definite England loss.

Trent Boult is back into the attack. It never rains but...

Mitch Santner is warming up. I think the spinner might get some tap from these two.

Kane Williamson has to make a few decisions now about what sorts of bowlers he can use at this stage.

    De Grandhomme 10-1-25-1

Well bowled, Colin de Grandhomme. An unassuming man, he's bowled a superb spell to restrict England here.

Ben Stokes is squared up and nearly chips a catch back to the big man, before there's an inside edge!

It wasn't an edge actually, he just rags it square. Buttler then nearly launches a catch but it falls safe!

England have seen him off now at least...

That four has got the crowd back onside, feels a bit more lively out there now.

How are we all doing at home? We were talking among ourselves and comparing this level of tension to other sporting events.

    It's like a three-hour penalty shootout...

Jordan Hart: Can we have another Buttler please.

Charlie Johnston: Buttler makes it look so easy to rotate the strike. 8 from 6 and not a shot in anger.

Shane O'Neill: At this rate, Buttler is going to have to start refusing singles.

He realised he had to put the pressure back on the bowler and he hit that hard. Really hard.

  20. Eng 103-4published at 27.3 overs

    Buttler 8, Stokes 14

The hundred is up! And what a shot that is, Ben Stokes takes three steps down the pitch and slaps Jimmy Neesham back over his head, it nearly collects the umpire on the way.
