England bowler Jofra Archer: "The last time I was in a final it didn't go my way so that was in my mind. Stokesy came over and told me, win or lose, today will not define me as a player.

"The boys did so well to give us 15, I am so grateful they gave us the opportunity to compete."

England bowler Liam Plunkett: "Breathtaking. Everyone was expecting scores of 400 in this tournament but bowlers did well.

It's not sunk in - I've had a sip of champagne, which is my first drink for five months.

"Everyone got to watch the game on TV - I hope they get a buzz for cricket like the 2005 Ashes."

More from Eoin Morgan: "There was certainly doubt as to whether we'd even make the semi-final and I'd never allow myself to imagine winning the World Cup. Cynical me, I guess.

"It was an easy decision to bowl Jofra in the Super Over. He's our best yorker bowler, one of the best in the world and we asked him to do what he's been doing. He's a guy with the world at his feet. He's been incredible throughout the World Cup.

"I've said incredible 50 times since lifting the trophy. Our fans are the best people on the planet. We had two must win games and we scraped through and we continued it on to today.

"Thank you for the support over the last four years."

Aidan Watson: Trying to think of alternatives to boundaries to decide the super over tie. Net run rate, group game result, position in the table or number of wins in the competition. England win them all I'm afraid so are probably right to win. Still feel for New Zealand though!

More from Eoin Morgan: "Absolutely unbelievable, I still can't quite believe it. A packed house at Lord's - the support has been incredible from the very beginning of the tournament and we've managed to pull it off. It's such a good feeling.

"I thought it was over when Chris Woakes got out but then Liam Plunkett got us back into the game and we had the rub of the green, with Ben's overthrows - I don't know who you described that on commentary.

"In the super over, Ben continued to have a great day out with Jos. A day to remember."

England coach Trevor Bayliss on TMS: "These guys have put in so much hard work and it's come to fruition. A lot of people behind the scenes have done a fantastic job and this feels fantastic.

"It makes it all worthwhile. We have come in for criticism at times but we had a goal in mind and this is the proof.

"Jofra Archer is our best bowler, he's hard to get away and he bowls a good yorker. He had the class and he showed it. The future he has got - he's going to be a fantastic bowler.

"I tried to be as calm as I can but I was very nervous on the inside - let me tell you."

England wicketkeper Jos Buttler: "Unbelievable isn't it. You think you've seen it all - ridiculous. An amazing occasion, it's hard to put into words.

"Me and Ben Stokes wanted to take the game deep, we didn't feel like the run rate would be a problem if we were there at the end. I don't know what happened at the end!"

England captain Eoin Morgan to TMS: "I don't even like champagne but today I love it.

"What an unbelievable day, an amazing advert for the game. I've got to commend the Black Caps - it was an incredibly tight game but we managed to get over the line.

"There has been a lot of planning behind the scenes over the last four years, the backroom staff have been incredible and it's time to enjoy ourselves."

What a day of sport, one of the greatest Wimbledon finals ever, gutted for Federer but wow that cricket match? World champions in one of the greatest games of cricket ever! A word for New Zealand - top lads, top team, and it's a shame there has to be a loser.

England captain Eoin Morgan: "There wasn't a lot in that game. I'd like to commiserate Kane Williamson and his team. The fight they show is worth aspiring to, the example they set is commendable to all. It was a hard, hard game where people found it hard to score.

"This has been a four-year journey, we have developed a lot. We find it hard to play on wickets like that and today was about getting over the line. Sport is tough at times. I was being cooled down by Liam Plunkett, which is not a good sign! I was up and down like a yo-yo.

"We are delighted that we are lifting the trophy."
