  1. WI 51-2published at 12 overs

    Target 267 (39 overs)

More top-class fielding from England. Knight sweeps Ecclestone for what looks like four all the way until the diving Tammy Beaumont appears from nowhere, and a full-length dive restricts them to two. As Dan Norcross points out on TMS, the diminutive Beaumont really has to dive for that one, but it's a great effort.

  2. WI 49-2published at 11 overs

    Kycia Knight 23, McLean 9

More tidy off-spin from ODI debutant Smith, just a two and a single from the over.

The required rate for West Indies is creeping up towards eight an over.

Current and former England players have been reacting to that Fran Wilson catch:

England spinner Alex Hartley: OH MY GOD!!! World class!! Fran Wilson what a grab!

Commentator and ex-England seamer Isa Guha: Flying @fwilson07, external - what a beauty!!

Ex-England batter Caroline Foster (nee Atkins): What a catch. Nice flying Fran.

Here's how it ended for Britney Cooper...

  5. WI 45-2published at 10 overs

    Target 267 (39 overs)

Ecclestone quickly through her over... just a McLean single from it, while Knight nearly plays onto her stumps.

Here is is - THAT catch.

  7. WI 44-2published at 9 overs

Bryony Smith has an immediate chance to redeem herself, as she's on to bowl off-spin from the Hayes Close End. And her first ball nearly produces a wicket, as Knight sweeps and top-edges it over the keeper... but safely.

A tidy first over from the Surrey all-rounder, who was presented with her first cap by TMS's Ebony Rainford-Brent (Surrey's director of women's cricket) before play.

I remember Alex Hartley's first game for England, she let the ball through her legs at long leg and then her first over she bowled was pretty poor. But she bounced back from that and won the World Cup within a year, so Bryony Smith can take note from that.

  9. WI 42-2published at 8 overs

I'm sorry to report that Bryony Smith's first contribution in an England shirt (wearing number 43, for those of you who note such things) is to let the ball through her legs for an unearned West Indies single.

McLean sweeps Ecclestone for a powerful four.

  10. WI 34-2published at 7 overs

    Target 267 (39 overs)

Kycia Knight drives Shrubsole for a good-looking four.

Credit to West Indies, they're showing much more intent than they did after the second rain break at Worcester, when they made absolutely no attempt to chase the DLS-adjusted target in that game.

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

Bryony Smith is in the side today more as a spin option, replacing Laura Marsh, but she was the top scorer in Division One of the County Championship - outscoring the likes of Fran Wilson and Tammy Beaumont. But I hope she gets an opportunity at some stage.

  12. WI 27-2published at 6 overs

Natasha McLean - dancer supreme and friend of Charlotte Edwards - is in at four for West Indies. It makes Natalie Germanos on TMS wonder if Stafanie Taylor is still struggling with that injured hand.

They are obviously trying to find a way to get the scoring rate up and you can't blame them for that but the question is which of the two batters is going to do that and who is going to anchor the innings. It doesn't feel like there's a real plan from West Indies.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5.4 overs

    Cooper c Cross b Ecclestone 4 (WI 27-2)

Despite taking a wicket last over, Kate Cross is off and England turn to the left-arm spin of Sophie Ecclestone... which pays immediate dividends. Cooper tries to get after the youngster, and it spoons up for an easy catch at short third man.

I'm pleased to see some intent at the start from West Indies.

  17. WI 26-1published at 5 overs

    Cooper 4, Kycia Knight 11

Single from Cooper, then Shrubsole goes round the wicket to the left-handed Knight who is nearly bowled leaving one just outside off stump. As they say, there's only two sorts of leave... Knight pulls a short delivery for four, then gets a thick edge to third man for one.

  18. WI 20-1published at 4 overs

    Target 267 (39 overs)

Kycia Knight guides Cross for the first four of the innings, but West Indies - even going at five an over - are going to have to get a shift on to chase this down. The required rate is over seven already.
