They're just stretching this gap now, England. 230 would be nice, but I definitely think they should be pressing towards 240.

We saw sixes at Worcester and plenty of runs at Leicester, but this is still a good batting track.

  2. Eng 216-3published at 36 overs

A couple of singles follow the boundary as England seven to their total.

Ramharack has figures of 1-39 from her six overs.

  3. Eng 214-3published at 35.3 overs

    Lovely from the skipper!

She picks up her first boundary with a lovely reverse sweep.

I was just about to question the decision to bring her in. I would have loved to see Anya Shrubsole biffing it round for a few overs!

West Indies won't want to have to go to the World Cup Qualifier. But there's a lot of work for them to do.

Only hosts New Zealand and the top four teams in the ICC Women's Championship qualify automatically. West Indies' remaining series are against India and Australia.

    Taylor 64, Knight 2

Three singles follow the back-to-back boundaries that started the over.

One comes via the assistance of more dire fielding from West Indies. If that had been picked up cleanly Sarah Taylor would have been in trouble running to the strikers end.

Sarah Taylor's really played well - she missed some of the winter tours so just wants to re-stamp her authority. She gave herself time to get set today. I hate to keep saying it as there's still a T20 series against West Indies to go, but looking at the bigger picture, they'll want her to be in form for the Ashes as it gives England a much greater chance of being successful.

    Four more!

Short again and this time Sarah Taylor picks the gap through mid-on and mid-wicket.

  8. Eng 202-3published at 34.1 overs

    That'll help!

A short ball by Shamilia Connell is pulled to the square leg fence by Sarah Taylor.

    200 up for England.

  9. Eng 198-3published at 34 overs

Despite looking like we wouldn't see her any time soon captain Heather Knight is the new batter. She gets off the mark first ball.

Five overs to go. Can England go at 10 an over and get near 250?

I can see what her thinking was as long-on was relatively straight and there was a deep mid-wicket, so she wanted to bisect them - but wasn't able to get underneath it and get the leverage.

    That's a poor dismissal.

    Wyatt c Connell b Ramharack 12 (Eng 196-3)

    Soft dismissal.

The experiment to bring Danni Wyatt up the order hasn't worked as she clubs a length ball straight to Shamilia Connell at mid-wicket to give Karishma Ramharack her first ODI wicket.

That stung Connell's hand, she was still wringing it way after taking the catch.

Wyatt has had a desperately poor series with the bat.

Here are a couple of highlights from Sarah Taylor's half-century.

A sweep and reverse sweep, a feature of her innings.

West Indies fielding has come under scrutiny in this series. To be honest, it's been woeful again today. This time Afy Fletcher fumbles, twice, at short fine leg. It doesn't cost any runs but it's basics.

A couple into the leg side brings up Sarah Taylor's 20th ODI half-century. She needed that. It's been a very good innings.

I hope it's nothing too bad. You never know with something like that. She looked in a world of pain, and they're bringing a bit of sawdust out.

I've been passed a note by the West Indies media manager - she's been battling a cold for some time, and has the flu.

Here's how birthday girl Amy Jones fell for 80:

Karishma Ramharack, still donning her cap, was just swapping ends.

Six singles come off the over. England are playing within themselves you feel.

Seven overs left, don't forget it's a reduced 39 over game.

Have England already got enough runs?

They've got plenty on the board. This is less about West Indies and this specific game, than about the standards England want to set themselves. Coach Mark Robinson told me that sometimes if you're not being challenged, you need to challenge yourself.

hypocaust: Amy Jones' 80 is the highest women's ODI score by a player on their birthday.

The only previous woman to make an ODI fifty on their birthday was Sri Lanka's Oshadi Ranasinghe, with 51* v England on 16 March this year.
