  1. Malan milking the bowlingpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 5 September 2019

Middlesex captain Dawid Malan will be looking to earn an England recall and the left-hander has been in prolific form in the Blast this year, the third leading runscorer with 488 from 13 innings, including two fifties and a best of 117. The 32-year-old, who has not played for England since May, has scored 70 boundaries in the 2019 competition.

Luke Wood needs to get it fuller and use that swing because he is quicker than people think.

  3. Middlesex 5-0published at 1 over

All five runs from the opening over go to Paul Stirling, including a boundary off the second ball of the game.

Nothing for Dawid Malan so far from a couple of balls faced.

  6. Middlesex probe with pacepublished at 18:58 British Summer Time 5 September 2019

Middlesex's two most successful bowlers in the Blast this year are paceman - and pacemen with international pedigree, England's Steve Finn and Toby Roland-Jones. Both tall fast bowlers have taken 19 wickets - the joint fourth highest in the event this term.

Finn, 30, who last played for England in 2017, took 5-16 against Surrey at Lord's, while Roland-Jones, 31, took a last-over hat-trick which earned him career-best figures of 5-21 against Glamorgan in July. Will pace be the way to go tonight?

  7. Notts hoping for Hales heroicspublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 5 September 2019

Alex Hales has had an eventful couple of years but the 30-year-old, who signed a new two-year white-ball contract for Notts this week and is soon off to the Caribbean Premier League, is the club's leading scorer in the Blast this year with 283 runs in 10 innings, including three fifties and a best of 63 against Derbyshire. Two single figure scores for the 30-year-old in his last two innings, how do you think he will fare tonight?

  8. Morgan inspires Middlesexpublished at 18:54 British Summer Time 5 September 2019

What a performance from England's World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan to seal Middlesex's place in the last eight.

The 32-year-old left-hander smashed five fours and eight sixes in a majestic 83 not out off 29 balls to guide his team to their target of 227 against Somerset - a record domestic T20 run chase and the fourth highest in T20 history.

  9. Middlesex hope to tap into spirit of 2008published at 18:52 British Summer Time 5 September 2019

While Notts are almost guaranteed last eight participants, Middlesex are the somewhat rarer species when it comes to making it this far.

This year is just the fourth time they got out of the groups and only one of those three previous appearances has seen them reach Finals Day.

But that was a year to remember as under then then nickname Crusaders, they won a thrilling final at the Ageas Bowl against Kent by just three runs.

Two players were in the Middlesex side that night who are still wearing the club colours - Dawid Malan and Eoin Morgan no less.

  10. Notts know their way around a quarter-finalpublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 5 September 2019

While this will be the first time Notts Outlaws and Middlesex have ever met in a T20 fixture, Notts are no strangers to reaching the last eight.

They've reached the quarter-finals more than every other county since the competition began in 2003.

Tonight is the 11th time they got this far and 10 of those games have been played at Trent Bridge.

And the last time that happened in 2017, a Samit Patel-inspired Outlaws beat Somerset by five wickets before then going all the way to the title that same season.
