Stephie, I had the same problem. Rang up the manufacturer, they said most f/fs work the same, the fridge draws its cold from the freezer and likely the pipe or opening that takes it from one side to the other has frozen, turn it off and let it completely defrost, and it'll most likely work fine again. And it did! Saved me several hundred pounds. Good luck.

Beuran Hendricks, the debutant, is on to bowl his left-armers. The sun continues its game of hide-and-seek behind the clouds as Sibley laces a wide one through the covers for four. That's the most convincing stroke he's played so far today.

If South Africa lose this match, it would be the first time they have lost eight out of nine Tests since before World War One.

As they usually do in these situations, the umpires dig into the bag of spares and come up with one that looks vaguely similar. If you think there's any great science to this procedure, you'd be wide of the mark.

Dane Paterson has dark hair and a tufty beard around his chin. He's not the tallest and he skids in before generating lively pace. For some reason, the umpires are looking at the ball, which is only nine overs old. It looks like it's going to be changed. Do they get a guarantee on these balls? They cost a fortune.

  7. Philander fined for Buttler send-offpublished at 11:20 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2020

This is brilliant. Vernon Philander has been fined 15% of his match fee for his send-off to Jos Buttler after getting him out yesterday.

So Buttler gets fined for saying nasty things to Philander in the second Test, then big Vern is punished for having a pop back.

Philander also gets one demerit point from the International Cricket Council, but he won't care about because he's retiring from Test cricket after this game.

    I'll definitely be trying that.

Philander has already got out in the first full over of the day, gone off injured, and now this...

Nick: I have this problem. It will be that ice has built up on the fan at the back of the freezer. You need to defrost the freezer completely and everything should be tickety boo.

There's a leg gully in place for Sibley. He was tested around the hip in the first innings and eventually gloved one down the leg side, so it's not the worst idea for South Africa to explore that theory. The Warwickshire man waits, toes pointing towards mid-off, bat over gully, then crabs into an almost side-on position when the ball is bowled. A slice off the face of the bat goes behind point for four. Nortje looks angry enough to explode.

Sounds like Stephan's fridge-freezer might have some uncertainty about its role in the kitchen. Doing both might be too much pressure, despite its cool head, so see how it feels about becoming a specialist.

I honestly think the ICC should make it mandatory for every Test ground to have at least one grass bank. They add so much to a venue. The public barbecues are a nice touch, too. Paterson to Sibley, full and straight. A maiden. I'be honestly got no problem with England batting again, but it might not be thrilling. Then again, we're only six overs in...

Warm air rises, cold air sinks. So turn your fridge freezer upside down and the air temp in the two will merge. Sorted.

Nortje is at it again. High pace, good line. The Wanderers isn't full, but there is a smattering of fans in the stands. Noise from children playing on the grass banks wafts across the ground. The sun just dips behind a cloud. Only a leg bye from the over.

I think Jos Buttler is under massive pressure. I was never convinced with this selection, choosing someone to come in to tee off at number seven. I've always rated Ben Foakes as a better wicketkeeper-batter.

I think Butler is one of the best white-ball cricketers to come in. But this is Test cricket.

Dane Paterson has bowled nicely since being asked to fill in for Vernon Philander. Probing, off-stump line, a bit of bounce, too. He's causing problems for both of these openers, not least with a rozzer that goes past Crawley's outside edge. Good contest.
