    Banton c De Kock b B Hendricks 32 (Eng 232-6)

Banton won't be there at the end! There's still a bit of life in South Africa.

It's a really good delivery that bounces and takes the edge of Banton's bat close to the handle. Quinton de Kock takes a simple catch.

England have lost two wickets in four balls. They can't throw this away, can they?

Moeen Ali is a decent batsman to have coming in at number seven.

Huge swipe of the bat in frustration as Denly walked off there. He wanted to be there at the end.

    Denly c Phehlukwayo b Ngidi 66 (Eng 232-5)

Joe Denly is livid. He had almost finished the job but gifts South Africa a wicket needlessly. He chips the ball to the fielder at deep extra cover. It shouldn't matter but Denly is still furious.

Poor Lungi Ngidi. Quinton de Kock brings him back for a cruel final spell with result all-but secure. Denly pulls him to the boundary through mid-wicket.

England need just 29 runs now and they have 14 overs to get there. Start the car.

  10. Eng 226-4published at 35.4 overs

Is this the over that ends this as a contest? Banton now sweeps along the ground for four. Shamsi's figures are taking a late hit. The party atmosphere is dying down at the Bullring. They know.

Six more! Similar shot from Denly, who plants his front foot and slogs Shamsi over mid-wicket.

    That's a big shot, however!

Joe Denly hammers a slog sweep into the stands and the six runs take him to his second fifty of the series.

Need 48 more runs to win

Joe Denly gives the umpire are look of 'come on' when he decides not to award another wide. It was very short and pretty high too. Denly would have had to have stuck an extension on his bat to get there.

This partnership is worth 48 from 90 balls. It hasn't been quick but it has been quick enough.

This stand is known at the Eastern Terrace. It's only in recent years that they've put netting under the stands, to prevent anything dropped down hitting someone below. In years gone by, glass bottles used to just get dropped down - walking underneath was a dangerous thing to do.

Fresh-faced Banton clips one from Shamsi to mid-wicket. The spinner only has an over left.

The extras are totting up from South Africa's. Reeza Hendricks bowls the innings' 12th wide. That's not good, especially when you are defending a relatively small total.

To Hendricks' credit he hits back with a good ball that rises and beats Banton outside off. Four runs from the over. 52 more needed.

  18. dropped catch

Banton dropped on 21published at 32 overs

    Oh dear.

Lungi Ngidi is having one of those days. A shocker.

He has been expensive with the ball and this is his second drop. It's much easier than the first. Banton hit a reverse sweep straight to him at backward point but it burst through his hands. It should have been taken.

So far this has been a similar game to Cape Town. Team batting first regroup after early collapse, but don't have enough on the board. Chasing team never look in that much trouble. Apart from this time the teams are reversed.
